To be fair I did support total surrender to the communists back in the 80's.
Again so many here wants to give Rob the benefit of the doubt but he always comes back to posting this kind of crap. He is who he is.
I think you're confused. The only name calling that I "whine" about is being called a racist/bigot.
The left has turned the term MAGA into a horrible thing, in their own minds, and now freely use it in the same way as the term Libturd.
I respond to you the way I do because you are never open to a real conversation. All you do is post racist or bigoted things and get mad you get called out on it. It's been that way for 10 years. You are who you are and I treat you the way you present your self. I'm just not one to try and get along with someone you doesn't care for others.
For me (not speaking on behalf of anyone else):
Posting a zz to memes that are hackneyed and unfunny doesn't equal being triggered. It equals being bored by the same old stuff.
I've given laugh emojis at some of the "pro-MAGA" memes you and others have posted in this thread that were actually clever and actually funny or that looked at the issues or made arguments in a new or interesting manner.
It's a funny political meme thread. It's all that kind of crap, but you refuse to understand it because you are who you are.
And once again you try to slip in an insult toward me without tagging me because you are who you are. Gutless.
I've noticed and understand. I do the same. I thought that was the reason for this thread being created apart from political discussion.

I consider myself a leaning left centrist...maybe I'm wrong...I probably come across as Liberal to people like @Rob B. because there certain things that I am very passionate about: LGBTQ+ rights, human rights/Anti-ICE (in the way they are acting like gestapo - IMO), anti-racist (if I feel someone is acting racist/bigoted, I tend to react), anti-maga/tRump (literally cannot stand our POTUS-he only cares about himself) (didn't care for Biden - just for the record)...I have some GOP leanings, but I honestly feel GOP and maga are NOT the same (although many GOPs are naturally siding with maga)

I disagree that @Rob B. is never open to a real conversation. I also completely disagree that all he does is post racist or bigoted things.
There are two examples in the ICE thread from yesterday of him being VERY open to a real conversation.
I also believe Rob likes to be "provocative" in his communication style and even sometimes (he has admitted this) takes a devil's advocate position that may not be exactly, completely what he believes.
There have been many times where what he has posted can be taken more than one way. When I've asked him to be very clear in which of those ways he meant, he usually (not always, admittedly) responds and clarifies.
I know Rob personally. I've known him for a long time. He's a decent human being. He's a good guy, and we all have our faults.

Maybe you are less MAGA than a couple people that you know, but you voted for the guy, you post MAGA memes, make MAGA arguments and support most MAGA policy. You might not like being called one (you have complained about it many times before), but you are MAGA all the way. The shoe fits.
If you aren't you actually have to be different than MAGA. Like have some delineation whatsoever.

Sorry for the Donny length story in the meme thread. I don’t post much political on Facebook, but yesterday someone I respect a ton posted basically "While republicans have our faults, Dems blah, blah, blah, and I'll never vote democrat."
This guy came in as the base commander when I was deployed. From the first time he inspected the medical tent, I knew he was different. He rapidly figured out what we needed, what we were doing wrong, etc. We became as friendly as a major and a full bird colonel could be. We'd have beers occasional and chat. He was a little more conservative than me, but barely. He went on to make General, I got out. We golfed a time or two after that but haven't seen each other in 15 years or so.
So I responded, basically, I understand your concerns, but I'm worried about ("primarying" opponents, DOJ no longer independent, pardons) what I felt were pretty straightforward, non-partisan concerns.
Some idiot responded to me and said a bunch of Biden this/that then spouted that I lacked judgment and common sense.
I waited, figuring I'd get a "Steve and I are old friends and reasonable people can disagree" type post from my friend. Instead, he just liked that post that insulted me.
I guess this is where we are at as a nation. Division. He knows me. He knows I don't lack judgment and sense. Hell, I not only served with him, I was his doctor. Yet, partisan now beats wartime friendship.
If the majority of this country is considered MAGA because they voted for the guy then so be it. Fire away at my shoes.
