I'm genuinely asking, what should the Dems do? The working class voting for Trump was monumentally stupid. Unions voting for trump, monumentally stupid. They were lied to, and bought it. So how are the Dems supposed to respond to that?

I'll just have to take peoples word for it that dems were "openly hostile" towards young men. Young (white) men have been told, and shown, for a very long time that they "deserve" everything. Dems come in and say, "hey, how about everybody gets a fair share" and suddenly it's openly hostile? Meh.

In 2008 we elected a black man as president. In 2016 the Ds nominated a white woman. In 2024 they ran an Indian/Black woman. White men somehow became the victim.

The 40-60 yo white male who most likely grew up using or being comfortable w homophobic & ethnic/racist slurs freaked. This generation of white males had it easier than any generation of white males before them. More access to wealth creation. No drafts. Access to unbelievable technology.

But somehow a black man becoming president, homosexuals receiving the right to marry and an immigrant working a job that you couldn’t pay double to get a white kid to work became threats.

The greatest sociological experiment of our time will be how did this generation of white males become the most victimized generation of white males since Plymouth Rock.

It’s possible that our President Donald J. Trump projects himself to be the biggest victim on the planet. Disagree with him or his policies, or not sucking up with ridiculous platitudes and he believes he’s a victim, and here comes retribution. He’s done more to justify victim hood than anyone I know of, and he won

Well, first, stop calling them "monumentally stupid" because that isn't going to win them back, it's going to drive them further away. That is exactly the open hostility that I'm talking about. Quit pretending that everyone who has a college degree is intelligent, because it isn't true, and quit pretending that everyone who doesn't have a college degree is stupid, because that also isn't true. Stop the damn condescension. That's where you begin.

Then pay attention to issues that are issues somewhere other than liberal arts faculty lounges.

You haven't been paying attention to what is happening with young men. They have 4 times the suicide rate of women. Young men are graduating high school at a lower rate, are much more likely to end up in jail or with substance abuse problems, they are entering college at a lower rate, are less likely to graduate college, and far less likely to enter a grad program. We have essentially an entire generation of young men that are being left behind. It's not "everybody gets a fair share". Women and girls are promoted. Young men are not.

So what do you do with people who believe chem trails are real and still look at ivermectin as a cure all?

Its hard to explain why the current immigration policy is barbaric when someone legitimately believes that most crime happens because people sneak across the border.

I get what you are saying but I don't know how you convince a bunch of people that a large portion of what they believe is not grounded in reality without coming off as being an elitist. Education doesn't equal intelligence but one of the more important aspects of college is learning how to think for yourself. If someone isn't capable of thinking for themselves what is the way to break that?
