Anytime I see a person with an unconcealed weapon in a store I immediately assume they are mentally ill.

my mind goes to they just need attention...reminds me of when I was a kid, my Uncle got a motorcycle...so one day we went to visit my Aunt in the hospital (his wife), and he shows up at about the same time, got out of his car, but carried his motorcycle helmet into the hospital...I was confused until my dad explained to me that although he drove his car, he wanted everyone to know that he had a big, bad motorcycle...
