It's not lame, it's reality. Sometimes you get beat down by reality so you alter expectations.

I'll be sure to pass on your message to the sooners

No, it's lame. But you're in a 'rebuilding year' so you get a pass
This is why their ceiling is an occasional type of season that gets them to a NY6 bowl, sandwiched in between some 7 and 8 win seasons resulting in the camping world, liberty and texas bowls.
Cheez It bowl too?

Actually the ceiling raises withe 12 team playoff.

Don't try to talk sense to a fan of last year's Cheez-it Bowl losers who thinks his team is going to have more success moving to the SEC from the Big 12.

He's not real rational.

Did you know OU's NIL was the first to make it so that every player on the the football, basketball and softball team gets 50k a year? in football at least, every scholarship and walk on player gets it. In terms of NIL OU is a major player right now, how else do you have a top 10 class in the NIL era? You cant if you dont play the NIL game. And this was after a 6-7 season. be interesting to se how donations look after a 10 win season in year 2.

As far as revenues and expenditures go, they spent over 56 million on renovations and other facilities costs in 2022, which is about 20 million more than what is normal. This would otherwise put their net revenue right in line with most of the other top revenue generators on that list. And of course this is before they get the sec payouts which could be 70 80 million a year vs the 40 million or so that they get from big 12. That's just more $ they can throw at renovations while donors can throw money into NIL.
I hate to throw cold water in your face but the additional revenues will be spent VERY VERY QUICKLY just trying to keep up with Arkansas, Ole Miss, Missouri, Auburn and Kentucky much less Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee!!! Missouri and Texas A&M found out that even with added numbers a team in the SEC not named Alabama, Georgia or LSU can barely keep pace!!! 😒

I don’t have to hope. If the big 12 is as mid as you describe, it is only rational to add a few more losses.
You'd think so, but we've heard how hard it is to 'get excited' about Big 12 games so it's assumed there won't be any weeks in the SEC where that doesn't happen.

You have low expectations. Likely shaped by your personal experience as a poke
I have low expectations for utn, based upon their recent mediocre performance in the Big 12 and them moving to SEC. If they can't thrive in what you call a mid-major conference, it's only getting worse for them.

Feel free to explain to me how ancient history of the Bedlam series should change my mind.

Gymnastics isn’t just a sport in gooner land, it’s a way of thinking

They have 14 conference championships, seems they have been thriving for quite some time in this mid major.

It would take baylor or kansas state 11 consecutive big 12 championships just to tie OU's 14. So it appears OU will be the big 12's daddy for a good 20+ more years beyond

Good for you, but ancient history hasn't done :poop: for you in the past two years or this year (three years is a trend) and sure as heck isn't going to do :poop: for utn in the coming years.

OU right now already makes more money than almost all those programs you named there, and this is in spite of taking in the old and below value big 12 distributions. It'll be arkansas, mississippi, missouri, auburn and kentucky trying to keep up with OU when they join sec and they make an additional 30-40 mil a year than they already are.

That's what recruiting and development is for. Recruiting is better now than it ever was under riley or stoops.

and the development is right on track, 10 wins during a rebuilding year is pretty nice, whether your hatred allows you to admit that or not.

It's cute that you believe that.

Adorable even.

this would assume that the OU you see in 2023 would be the same you get in 2024. But as you can see, they differ every year. the 21 team was not the same as 22 who is not the same as 23. But there will be another 40 new players on next year's team.

It's hard to get up for a home slate consisting of wvu, ucf and tcu. its boring. it's easy to get up for seeing alabama, tennessee and the fighting beamers.
Understood. People do circle the date that South Carolina comes to town, no doubt about it! Hope nobody plans a wedding that day or there'll be hell to pay for missing that colossal matchup. Imagine back to backs with Vandy or Mizzou rolling into Norman!
