Border problem.

Yeah Im saying both are full of crap. And you know they are you just like to argue on websites cause you’re not good enough to get out of public work to do it in real life. This is all election crap. Both sides are playing games.
Oh look at Donnyboy going personal because his crap argument doesn't stand up, he's getting destroyed, and his own bias is showing.

Very Trumpy, Don.

And about as effective.

Kudos tough guy.😘

There are certainly elements of election posturing but the heart of this seems to be actual elected officials w differing views actually trying to solve problems by working together. Diversity in ideas is greater than purity.

Biden wants funding for Ukraine and Israel. As do certain true conservative Senators.

Some of those same conservatives who are actually serious about border control and immigration saw an opportunity to get all 3 things done.

Biden said “OK. I’ll work w you in good faith and see what we can come up with.”

Led by one of the most conservative members of the Senate, our own Sen Lankford, Senate negotiators from both parties came up w a framework and actually got Biden to move right on border control.

And just as reports surface that they are close Trump torpedos the deal and gets his minions in the house to run to the cameras and put out false narratives. Even WhataboutBob (aka GoGetum) feel for it.

Nothing will be perfect. You cannot or will you not get to zero illegal immigrants.

If someone like Lankford says it is a step in the right direction and Biden agrees to sign it why shouldn’t we move towards that direction.

Trump is the one who changed the game on the election cycle and he did it to benefit him solely. We cannot as a country get held hostage by arbitrary timelines.

The $124M is the expense paid. But the article should have included the potential expense saved.

$124M for 100k migrants is $1.2k/per. Have to assume the cost to house, feed, care, and educate would be well above that amount.
Expenses the federal govt would have paid/reimbursed for ..now the State of Texas is out Texas taxpayer dollars

Imagine how much less that burden would be if those same taxpayers demanded their tax deductible offering plate contributions were used to … you know … feed the poor and care for widows and orphans.
I’ll bite. Where do you think plate offerings go?

It’s well documented that the 80/20 rule applies.

80% to building/technology/staff. 20% to ministry. That 20% is skewed toward the worship experience and kids/youth.

I’ve advised several Tulsa area ministries and 2 of my best friends are pastors and they believe it’s closer to 90/10 in most churches.

Edit: Andy brings up a good point and I should have been more clear. 80/20 is not the “rule” as I said or guideline. There are a lot of churches that are extremely generous w their out reach. 80/20 is the typical average of how churches spend their money.

It depends on the denomination. There’s some that give nothing to benevolence and some that give 30%.

I would only attend a small church now...(note: I don't attend church at all anymore, although I am a Christian/religious person) mega churches have ruined Christianity (IMO)...I can study scripture on my own, or watch a church service on my tv if I need to...maybe mega churches reach more people now, but to me it is too much about leaders of those churches making $$$...

Interesting video about American reporter who only has to pay a dollar to walk across the Mexican border with his escort to do a dangerous story about the coyotes:
