2024 Presidential Election

For those wondering why Trump would wage war against Taylor Swift: "His followers don't care. They will set fire to anything if Trump issues his clarion call. Think about what Republicans have attacked out of blind fealty to Trump: the NFL, MLB, NBA, Nascar, Bud Light, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Disney, the FBI, book, M&Ms, Mr Potato Head, colleges, Dept of Education, Starbucks, etc. Trump speaks to an undiscerning base that will follow him off a cliff."

This dudes rap sheet is wild

Here are screenshots of Ryan Wesley Routh's rap sheet. The bottom of the 3rd page indicates he was convicted on felony "possession of weapons of mass destruction" in North Carolina. I highlighted the pertinent section.

I included a screenshot of the NC statute defining "weapons of mass destruction". The relevant section is highlighted.

Screenshots are in order from left to right.

We have one candidate talking about improving the lives of Americans with affordable housing, healthcare, lower grocery costs, etc.

We have another candidate fighting with Taylor Swift and promoting false stories about LEGAL immigrants eating cats. False stories that are leading to domestic terrorism threats.

Try as MAGA and the GOP might, they are not going to convince the entire country to hate everybody who is non-white.
It simply proves how Republicans are far more interested in fighting the cultural war than anything else, including at the local level. At a recent meeting of Payne County Republicans, they heard from two of their candidates running for legislative offices. One of the questions asked of them was how to get rid of a Stillwater substitute schoolteacher rumored to be transgendered. Both candidates want to ban transgender teachers in schools. While they may be human, they shouldn't be around children. Also, schoolteachers cannot be allowed to indoctrinate students into becoming transgenders. Where is that actually going on in Oklahoma schools?

Another question was about DEI. It was joked about as standing for Division, Exclusion and Insanity and meaning reverse discrimination. In the hour plus long session not one question was asked about how to attract good paying jobs, or improve infrastructure, health care and education. Ryan Walters was brought up to ask how they thought of him. None of the two candidates want to impeach him. They just thought he has a more bold and outspoken approach than what we're used to. His heart is in the right place. "My hat is off to his tenacity", as one said.

IVF vote shot down today

51-44: Republicans block a bill that would establish a federal right to IVF access. The legislation again fails to break the filibuster on a procedural vote.

Trump's former WH comms director rips Sarah Sanders and Trump campaign

Former Trump WH Comm. Dir. Alyssa Farah Griffin responding to Sarah Huckabee Sanders' comments at a Trump townhall —

Griffin: [They] demonize and shame people on the most personal and private decision. It’s so anti-family, it’s anti-women. It’s the easiest way to lose people’s support. It’s a bad strategy.

"My dad (Tennessee MAGA Rep. Mark Green) sells himself in politics as being a Christian, conservative family man,” Catherine Green told the Nashville Banner. “His actions in the last, whatever, year have not been that.”

No, but those same actions make him a great Republican.
