2024 Presidential Election

I don't know God's will and I'm not going to claim to. People have free will though so just because something happens doesn't mean it's God's will.
Exactly my point, why let idiots who claim Trump winning was "God's will" make him sooo tired?

I don't know, but if I'm being honest with myself I question the faith of people who claim to be Christian but put their political interests above all. For instance, look at the abortion debate earlier today. If I were to guess, the people who scream the loudest that it's evil and people who support it are too are the ones who would have their daughter first in line at the clinic if they felt it necessary. When people take moral or spiritual issues and turn them into political fodder, they are the first to fold when their own morality is put to the test.


No one knows His will and those who have the hubris to think they do are probably wrong.

Already soooo tired of reading on social media that 'God's Will' was done in this election...WTF...if it's God's will, then is this outcome what he wanted or desired for our country? If it is, God hates U.S....
Someone posted a video on Reddit talking about "God's will" and "everyone is subject to the governing authorities". This was my response:

Romans 13:1-2

Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed (emphasis added)

The preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America

We the People of the United States (emphasis added), in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

We do not have a king in this country. We have a form of government where all authority is vested in the government from the consent of the people, but the authority of that government, as we see in the preamble of the Constitution is actually in the people themselves, not in the government. The people grant the government it's powers and authorities by their consent. Office holders, such as the President of the United States are not in whom those powers and authorities are vested, they are vested in the office and the person holding the office is the steward of those powers and authorities. Romans 13:1-2 was no less true four years ago when Biden was elected president than it is today, and would be no less true today if Harris had been elected president instead of Trump, because the authority derives from the consent of the governed and is vested in the office and the elected official is merely a steward of that office.

This is why I no longer call myself an evangelical.

But that's what we get with the first amendment. People have the right to speak their minds and that includes religious speech, and to advocate for legislation for any reason they want and that includes religious reasons. If you don't like it move to Great Britain where they are putting people in jail for tweets.
 
Neither party has wanted to fix immigration. They would rather use it as a campaign issue. But what the Biden administration has done the past four years.... is criminal.

That is the story of this election, there isn’t a single county or demographic that I am aware of where she out-performed Biden. They hid Biden’s decline, he shouldn’t have run again. When it became apparent that he wasn’t capable and was going to lose they played the only hand they had and it was a bad one.

For me, there was no outcome that was going to make me happy. There was an outcome that would make me the least unhappy and that would be divided government, with Harris winning the White House and Republicans winning both houses of Congress. But that didn’t happen.

So what happens if he DOES get his feelings hurt and starts imprisoning political rivals? It would probably be considered legal as an official act by SCOTUS.
