It is a difficult concept for sure. And, there are a lot of people absolutely convinced that it is straightforward and they are right, when they really just haven't given it enough thought.

Trump was overly harsh on many aspects of the border. Instead of adjusting that to normalcy, the dems swung the pendulum too far the other way. I agree with you that it really cost them. I also think if the border bill had passed it might have saved them, which Trump clearly did not want and they didnt have an answer to that which cost em yet again.

I agree with all of that. The way the bill was structured gave the GOP all they needed to say there motives weren’t political. Their motives were political. But anyone can say they weren’t serious or the border bill would have been a border bill not 3/4s for something else. The cost would have been lower and the priorities clear. They could have yanked the military part and made the GOP look really bad. But it was never a serious bill it was a band aid and a way to send more money to unpopular (in many ways on both sides) wars. They screwed up the optics on both ends. They called anyone calling for border measures racist….thats why Biden couldn’t get something done early on….so it’s hard to pass a bill about something you called people racist over. Additionally being overly harsh has better optics than opening it up. The average American doesn’t feel pain from over harsh well meaning immigrants do…..a lot did from wide open. It was horrible strategy.

It wasn't inaccurate at the time I posted it, stop being so unbothered, and I'll admit I should have done more research as to why the numbers were like that at the time.

I don't know God's will and I'm not going to claim to. People have free will though so just because something happens doesn't mean it's God's will.

I don't know, but if I'm being honest with myself I question the faith of people who claim to be Christian but put their political interests above all. For instance, look at the abortion debate earlier today. If I were to guess, the people who scream the loudest that it's evil and people who support it are too are the ones who would have their daughter first in line at the clinic if they felt it necessary. When people take moral or spiritual issues and turn them into political fodder, they are the first to fold when their own morality is put to the test.
No one knows His will and those who have the hubris to think they do are probably wrong.
