2024 Presidential Election

OKLAHOMA CITY – Despite a near-total ban on abortion, Oklahoma’s state Legislature saw dozens of bills attempting to impose more restrictions.

But none crossed the finish line to become law this session.

Bills ranged in focus, from restricting “chemical abortions” and “abortion pills” to personifying fetuses and restricting travel for the procedure. Oklahoma law bans abortion, with the only exception being to save the life of the pregnant person. It does not allow exceptions for rape or incest.
Again…So nothing?

@Duke Silver and @GOGETUMPOKE ...I'll go right to one of the worst case: if your wife or daughter was raped and later found out they were pregnant, what do you/they do? I expect another smart @$$ comment, but oh well...
IMO it should be the woman who decides what to do with their body...
Easy, and I’m sure extremely unpopular here. I think they should carry the child full term. Rape amounts to around .4% of all abortions but the left loves to trot out that scenario. Somewhere around 96% of all abortions are elective and last year in the United States we murdered 1,000,000 babies. The highest number since 2012 even after RVW was stricken down Gasp. It’s..the..worst…thing..we..do.

Don’t bring reason

I prefaced it by saying I was going to a worse case…the right loves to trot out that if a person wants to have sex and gets pregnant they should have the baby. There are a lot of other instances where a woman wants/needs an abortion but can’t. What about the woman who has complications but is not in danger of losing life but has to carry baby to term with no chance of life?

Agree to disagree but I think it should be a woman’s choice and no one else.

I don’t think I understand. Explain it more. I will probably agree btw

Such as?

Jesus. You don’t read or what? It’s been legal for a year. Or actually forever. The state ag and Supreme Court overruled your talking point a year ago. Stop
Jesus. You don’t comprehend reading. It’s illegal in Oklahoma. Unless to save mother’s life. Stop.

Ok. Why not use birth control or morning after?

It's probably on the chopping block in some states in the future. Once the political backlash of the roe vs wade repeal dies down there is the potential to be a push to limit its use or ban it outright.

If you don't think it's possible or is just fear mongering, just remember that it wasn’t that long ago most people didn't see roe vs wade being touched.

And, if you gave a crap about abortion and not the law you would look around the world and see where the lowest abortion rates are and how they do it. Hint: making it illegal and bitching about "personal responsibility" ain't it.

But, we all know this isn't about lowest abortion rates.

Why should you worry about other the pregnancies of other women unless you helped create one? And if she doesn't want to keep it but you do, should your desire to keep the baby rule over hers?

You brought up murdered. Do you believe every woman who gets an abortion should be put on trial for murder and if found guilty what should be her punishment? Life in prison or worse?
