2022-2023 Off-Season

I see, you get to frame an argument anyway you wish and not look at the most recent data. Cool
You are the one who asked "How's the ROI working out for the two so called weights?" So i answered, since the inception of the big 12, the recruiting prowess of OU has won them 14 conference titles, a few visits to the playoffs and a national title. for texas, only 3 championships in big 12 but still won a national title. since they're the only two big 12 teams who can claim this, it lends itself to the clear advantage the recruiting has afforded them compared to everyone else.
And of course we know one season does not make a trend.

But the thread is about Oklahoma States off season. And your intial question was how will OSU dominate the new big XII with such a low recruiting budget. But here you are talking about ou and Texas. Again.

Yep, blame andylicious for bringing OU into it then.
Your comment about “two recruiting heavy weights leaving XII” came before he said anything about ou. Posts 124 and 128 for reference. He didn’t ask about an ROI for said heavyweights until post 140. So who exactly brought up ou on the Oklahoma State offseason thread?😂

Of course the sooner brings up ou and texas in a thread about OSU. Cant help himself.

Thank you, Toker once again twists crap. Who would of thought?

I would prefer our recruiting budget to be in the $1 million dollar range. It definitely will not hurt. Another reason to increase the budget is the NCAA is removing limits on the number of visits a recruit can take. I don't think there will be a huge jump in recruits taking 20 or 30 visits, but I could see some recruits jumping to the 6 to 8 range very easily.

I think this will help us and other schools similar to us. The athletes that have us in the mix but wouldn't take an OV due to restrictions now have that opportunity to come see what OK State is all about.

I agree, which is going to require more dollars. There will some good stories come out of this.
Actually it won't require that much more for us since we pay less for a recruit visit compared to most schools. That is because the recruits (and their families) stay at the Atherton and eat much less expensive food compared to some other schools. The Atherton is the best hotel in Stillwater anyway and Gundy has said he does not go for the really fancy meals with recruits because he does not want them to get a warped sense of what college football at Oklahoma State will be like. In fact they do a lot of the recruiting meals from the same training table the players will be using if they come to OSU.

This is the kinda stuff where I really admire Gundy's approach to managing our program. I wish he'd manage games better, etc...but he does so many other things well.

I was clearly making a reference to the value of recruiting by citing the success experienced by the only two big 12 programs who have consistently recruited top 10 classes. The point of course, being that if you recruit well, you are more likely to win bigger games

I was talking about the value of recruiting, and how osu handcuffs itself with the seemingly mediocre level investment being made at the administrative level. andyliciious asked me how the return on investment is with that recruiting for the two recruiting heavyweights, so i answered. That's on him.

It should be a minimum of 1 million. Especially in a state where there is so little upper echelon blue chip talent available from year to year.
