Big XII Tournament Thread

How is this wrong on so many levels? Are you saying AJ and Kirk wouldn’t have made the finals? Find that hard to believe…with those two we would have easily won big 12 and had a shot at NCAA if Mastro was right…

everyone agrees AJ the person stinks. But AJ the wrestler was really really good…Kirk too. We can be happy the personality is gone and understand we’d score more points with him in the lineup…

Ferrari's flame out had nothing to do with Kerk's commitment or decommitment from OSU.

Ok fine, but that want really the main idea of the post he made. ” Committed to us. Would have come if Ferrari hadn't flamed out. Ended up at Penn State instead. If we had Kerkvliet and Ferrari this year Mizzou doesn't have a chance of catching us. That puts 5 Pokes in the finals”

we were mostly talking about the fact this team would look very different had things been going like they are supposed to. Frankly here’s the difference between us and Penn State: we can’t afford to miss on our big time recruits. At least not until we start getting potential finalists in the portal To replace our misses like they do.

We also need Travis Wittlake, the #6 recruit in his class, and Reece Witcraft, the #25 recruit in his class, and Trevor Mastrogiovanni, the #11 recruit in his class, and Carter Young, the #11 recruit in his class, and so on and so on to wrestle up to their potential.

Ferrari is gone. Kerkvliet never enrolled. It is what it is. We have enough talent to make up for it, but they need to bloom into what they were expected to be. Our entire lineup with the exception of Wyatt Sheets and Konner Doucet were top 30 overall recruits in their respective classes. Recruiting isn't the problem with this program.

So let’s talk about Carter and Wittlake: if it wasn’t for podium guys at 133 and 174 would they be wrestling up a weight? Are they at the optimum weight class for them personally? My guess is no. And Top 30 guys are good and all, but top 10 and top 5 guys are much more likely to be consistently competing for NC and scoring major points. I mean there are maybe 5 elite programs, top 30 guys should be routine and while I haven’t done the math recently, the finalist a few years ago were almost all top 10 guys
