Pokes at Horns

Anyone catch Josh on the postgame? Curious what he had to say.

He is too comfortable. Chad needs to turn up the temperature. Approaching 10 years since the last Omaha appearance is simply not good enough. We continue to see the same issues year after year. I want Josh to be successful and I truly think he can be if he has some pressure on him and make adjustments, because he is too stubborn to make them on his own.

Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in Josh’s case unfortunately!

I did not but am curious to hear what he had to say as well.

I think Josh is an average coach at a college with MUCH more potential. Ten years is a long stint to deliver "meh". I agree the heat needs to turned up quickly and maybe think about life after Josh.

What you see is what you get with Josh. He is a diehard Cowboy and loves OSU baseball (same for all of us).

I think he is loyal to his players but at a fault sometimes to the team. It shows with lineups and in-game strategy (or lack thereof). I also think he is set in his ways and always has an excuse when things go wrong instead of owning it.

He has been given every resource possible and time to build the program to national prominence. We are a very good program but not great….at least yet. We may have reached full potential with Josh as HC. We can get to a regional every year but struggle to make a Super consistently. I don’t think it is unrealistic to expect to make it to a Super every couple years.

I hope he proves me wrong and we go on a tear this postseason. If so, it will likely be on the road.

I’ve had relatives and students play for him. He is loyal to a point, but it’s not like you are imagining. He is no more a Gary Ward level coach than his dad was. Gary Ward is our standard and we need to get a baseball team our softball team can be proud of.

A family friend played for him a few years ago, he did not have good things to say...basically that Josh has his guys and nothing the other guys will do can break that. Also that he and Walton both try to teach hitting but they don't teach the same message. But, he also didn't get to play so he is a little bitter.

Yep, same story I heard.

To add insult to injury, all the games are on that LHN and I don’t have that, nor do I want it. Is there really no other place you can watch this Flippin game today other than the Longhorn network?

Benge starts for OSU

Two out walk after getting ahead 1-2
Then hits Belyeu on 0-2
--Walton out
Groundout to 3B

Had to throw a lot of extra pitches

Schubart gets ahead 3-1 and then chases ball four. Texas doesn't do that, which is why they have more HRs, a better team BA, and a more consistent offense

Pokes down quietly again

T3
Forsythe leads off with OSUs first hit
Daugherty follows with a single and there's runners at the corners
--Daugherty to 2nd on WP
Ortiz Ks swinging. He's killing us
Crull misses a bunt and the runner is out at 3rd, wtf
Crull flies out to RF

2nd and 3rd nobody out and get nothing
