Who's Leaving, Who's Coming - Coaches Edition

I do believe I have seen it reported that Crill is coming to OSU. Don't remember where I saw that.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a school hire Cobbs just to try to get their foot in the door with Caleb Hawkins.

Edit: I found where it was reported on Crill

"Pokes Report can report North Texas offensive line coach Cody Crill is following Eric Morris and will be on staff at OSU in the same role."
Was he the OL coach in’24 too?

Granted, Bama can’t run the ball for $hit, but they’ve got a UNT transfer starting on the OL.

CFP note: we won’t hear a thing about Bama not deserving a spot after getting blown out.

Hard to make that argument after they won a game already. Granted it was a sloppy game against another team that didn't deserve to be there but SEC.

If you aren't top 3 in your conference you shouldn't be in the playoff. I can understand in this day and age missing a championship game due to a tiebreaker and saying you belong. Finishing 5th, go enjoy the Pop Tarts Bowl.

Avg margin for 3 quarterfinal games? 23 points.

It was worse in the 4 team playoff btw.

So when we get to the offseason and you’re hearing the talking heads rail on who belongs’ in the CFP, just know actual reality contradicts the notion that if you just include more SEC/B1G teams the games would be better. That’s purely self serving speculation.

That argument was widely made, though, when TCU got blown out by Georgia, despite them beating Michigan.

Zach Allen is going to Southwest Oklahoma (Weatherford) as the OC and OL coach.

I know a lot of people don’t like Robert or Zach, but I am glad he found a good job. Being out of work sucks and I don’t wish it on anyone. I also think he is a better coach than many will give him credit.
Being out of work is not good.

Just saw too that Cooper Bassett landed at UCF as tight ends coach. Good for him!

Jules Montinar is following Todd Grantham and will coach CBs at UAB. Hopefully, our remaining young DBs aren’t foolish enough to follow him into what will probably soon be another shitstorm.

With these former staff members getting hired elsewhere, those buyout should be reduced.

Why would they? Maybe Montinar is a good dude but he was only here for a year and half our team last year were rentals to begin with. The rest were recruited by Duffie and Hammerschmidt so its not like they had a deep relationship with the new defensive coaching staff.

Also I was thinking about this. We are seeing what happens when a very well liked coach and staff goes to a new team-lots of guys follow. Im not knocking Gundy but do any of us think if instead of getting fired he left for Tennessee we would see a mass exodus of players? Maybe if they threw a bunch of money at some of "his" guys but would they do it out of loyalty? I don't know that they would.
