Who will be named Starter at QB?

No one ever said having a QB competition was a bad thing. Of course, NFL and every team at some point, has had QB competitions. NFL teams will never do a "QB rotation" in the season.

So far, I've seen Alabama, Notre Dame, and Ohio State all come out in the past week and name their starter from their QB competition. Some pretty good teams on that list.

The history with Gundy in this scenario suggests more of the same.

There’s good reason to not name a starter yet. The biggest reason being we have pretty much no depth behind Zane and Hauss, so you need both of those guys. Wouldn’t want one to get upset and pack their bags before the season starts. That probably mostly applies to Zane going into his 3rd year and if he saw he got beat out by a younger guy. Also, Tennessee Martin is basically a preseason game/scrimmage, they should both get plenty of reps regardless. See who performs with the lights on.

Whether they announce or not, if they don’t go into the Oregon game set on one guy or the other that’s a problem. The only way you should go into Oregon with any sort of 2 QB system is if Zane is the guy and there are just some short yardage, goal line running packages for Hauss.

Hauss Hejney. I don’t think people understand how good this guy is going to be. He will win us games just from his ability to move around in the pocket and get yards down field
I think Flores will be because of his height and better throwing arm. And he isn’t a slouch when it comes to moving around.

Have you seen?
I have seen enough of Hauss that makes me believe he will be one of the best QBs we have seen in a while.

He runs a 4.45 and is the fastest qb in school history. I don’t remember anyone running that quick.

He can throw the ball a lot better than Spencer sanders and JW Walsh. He is a fast Zach Robinson this is my best comparison. TCU didn’t let him throw it because they didn’t want him transferring out but it didn’t matter once meachum was signed on

Have you seen him in practice in person?

I hope your right. We'll get to see for ourselves in 11 hours.

Serious question since we have all day, where have you seen him play, other than YouTube highlights?

Well there are a few other key things required of a QB than what you listed and that is where Hauss has to improve.
And how would you know that he needs to improve at passing the ball?

From every thing I heard, he is pretty darn good. I mean I get he is young but his upside is just as good if not better than most QBs.

Well you can watch the Cinncinati vs TCU game where he literally drained 8 min of clock in the 4th to seal the game. It was just him running up the middle consistently down their throats
