Jist what we need, allow people to shoot faster. Trump administration strikes deal to allow sales of rapid-fire gun modification

To gun rights supporters, you can't have too much gunfire to defend yourself from evil or mentally disturbed mass shooters.

You've got to be kidding me!!! So now we are rewarding people's families for them breaking into the capital, ignoring orders to stay behind a locked door while trying to attack congressmen..? What the crap is wrong with this administration

Play stupid games, win millions

I doubt they would be so quick to settle if the person who died was (d)ifferent

Absolutely not. They'd probably charge the family with something

Or smear the victim regardless of the circumstances.

As a reminder Kilmar Abrego Garcia went from being someone here illegally to a gang member to a terrorist because of the narrative.

Yeah this suck a massive one…..

Question for @JDCowboy ….. did the pardon contribute to this? Like is there no such thing as wrongful death if you’re committing a crime? Or does any of that matter if you’re dead? That would take this from really awful to horribly shitty really fast. Or this just caving to a suit or worse?

Ashli Babbit wasn’t pardoned because she was never charged or prosecuted because she was dead.

Commission of a crime by the decedent doesn’t eliminate claims for violation of civil rights. I’d bet this was a civil rights lawsuit for excessive force.

This isn’t just caving to a suit, IMO. This was a suit the government wins pretty much every time. And the settlement amount is MUCH more than a cost of defense nuisance value settlement. This is so much more than ā€œcavingā€.

This is Trump deciding to directly reward an insurgent and criminal to send a message to all the cult members and the rest of the world….ā€if you engage in lawless violence on my behalf, I will choose to reward you over law enforcementā€. This is also a warning to law enforcement and prosecutors that they’re safer being loyal and upholding Trump’s edicts than they are being loyal to and upholding the Constitution and the rule of law.

I cannot stress how awful I consider this.

I’ll also say that I don’t care how much you agree with or like DOGE or his immigration enforcement or his tariffs or his tax cuts or his spending cuts or anything else, THIS should be a redline where every citizen should be saying no more…..he cannot be supported or tolerated anymore.

With the words out of his own mouth that he ā€œdoesn’t knowā€ if he has to uphold the constitution and ā€œdoesn’t knowā€ if he has to provide due process….and now this as well….he’s crossed the Rubicon. There’s no returning from or excusing this.

Pair that with charging a sitting Dem Representative with assault the same day for the NJ ICE detention center thing...

So not only will he reward you above law enforcement for supporting him, he's going after congressmen of the other party when his "police force" escalates a situation. That entire situation was FUBAR. Arresting the city's Mayor after you let him into an area and he had already left, and now charging a congressman for assault during the scuffle you started with that bogus arrest.

That scene was another example of preventing congressional oversight, just like when DOGE was locking office buildings with armed guards at agencies under "review" and not letting Congress in to see what was going on.
