Ukraine Orders 50,000+ Civilians to Evacuate Pokrovsk
Ukraine has ordered families with children to evacuate Pokrovsk amid fears that Russian troops are about to bear down on the city.
Ukrainian officials said that Russian troops were advancing so quickly that families must flee the city and other nearby towns.
Russian troops have been pushing toward the city for months after a six-month slog across Ukraine's Donetsk region following the capture of Avdiivka.
Pokrovsk has an estimated 53,000 residents.
So he's calling for Putun to turn this into WW3? No more proxy just direct nuclear confrontation with NATO. Seems like the WORST possible option for everyone on the planet.Former US military Office who defected to Russia in the 90's calls for Putin to pre-emptive strike London and New York with Nuclear weapons
He's a nobody. There is nothing to take seriously with him.So he's calling for Putun to turn this into WW3? No more proxy just direct nuclear confrontation with NATO. Seems like the WORST possible option for everyone on the planet.
Oh I know. It's just people don't think things like this through and comments like his only make it worse. He's a nobody. There is nothing to take seriously with him.
I'm worried about the people of Russia and what they think as Russian state TV drags these "nobody's" out and they spout these outrageous ideas.....I just don't want the people of Russia to start to buy in as this is an optionHe's a nobody. There is nothing to take seriously with him.
Its part of their propaganda technique. They have a number of people spew contradicting accounts on purpose, and then craft a state narrative with the ones that gain the most traction. There does not appear to be any serious nuclear threat at this point.I'm worried about the people of Russia and what they think as Russian state TV drags these "nobody's" out and they spout these outrageous ideas.....I just don't want the people of Russia to start to buy in as this is an option
Have you seen any word that Washington is taking off all limits on American offensive weapon use? That our weapons can now be used throughout Russia?Yeah, not a smart thing to do in JANUARY

WW3 will begin if 'West keeps allowing Ukraine to attack Russia' warns Putin ally
A close ally of Vladimir Putin, Sergei Chemezov, has issued a stark warning to the West, stating that it risks sparking a third World War if Ukraine's assault on Russian territory continues. Chemezov, who is also the CEO of Rostec corporation, a major supplier of Russia's arms for the war, expressed confidence in Russia's position more than two years into its brutal invasion of Ukraine.
The former KGB general echoed the Kremlin's stance that the conflict is essentially a battle between the West and Russia. He criticized the US for fuelling the conflict by supplying weapons to Kyiv and allowing strikes deep into Russia, and warned of the increasing risk of a global conflict.
Putin declared last week that Russian forces would drive Ukrainian troops out of Russian sovereign territory, but they remain within Russia's borders.
In June, the Russian leader warned that he could deploy conventional missiles within striking distance of the West if they allowed Ukraine to penetrate deeper into Russia with long-range Western weapons, reports The Daily Mail.

The autocrat asserts that the invasion of Ukraine is part of an existential struggle against a declining and decadent West, which he accuses of humiliating Russia after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 by encroaching on what he views as Moscow's sphere of influence, including Ukraine.
Moscow alleges that the West was complicit in planning for Ukraine's assault on the Kursk region. Western powers, keen to avoid direct military conflict with Russia, have refuted this and accuse Russia of fuelling the war.
Chemezov, 71, found himself under American and EU sanctions following Russia's annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014. He dismissed as a 'myth' the notion that Russian shop shelves were empty due to sanctions and increased defense spending. "Go to any Russian hypermarket and see for yourself - everything is fine," he said.
Sanctions have disrupted supply chains, forcing Rostec to adjust deadlines for the Yakovlev MC-21 airliner and to substitute about 40 imported components in the Superjet-100, but none of this is fatal for Russia or Rostec, he asserted. Rostec's workforce is set to increase by tens of thousands this year, according to the company's CEO. He views the exit of Western companies like Boeing and Airbus from the Russian market as an 'opportunity' for Rostec, expressing his gratitude for the situation.

"We have weathered the main storm. We've managed to turn the situation to our advantage and draw necessary conclusions. One of them being: no more joint ventures based on trust with Western countries," stated Chemezov.
Russia ranks third in the world for arms exports, trailing behind the US and France. However, its global market share dipped in 2023 due to the conflict in Ukraine, as reported by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Chemezov asserted that defense companies would continue to significantly contribute to Russia's economy, even post-Ukraine conflict. While weapons exports have seen a decline, Chemezov noted signs of substantial deferred demand from overseas. This is partly attributed to the battlefield-proven effectiveness of Russian weapons in Ukraine.
"Our partners are understanding and prepared to wait," Chemezov said, without disclosing their identities. "There's already a considerable queue on the waiting list."
I'm reading US has opened a few but not all..and I'm also reading the US is preventing Ukraine from deploying some UK systems as well that UK gave them permission to useHave you seen any word that Washington is taking off all limits on American offensive weapon use? I’m seeing it in foreign press that is about half right of the time. Still don’t see it our press.
What changed? We went to war in Vietnam to free those people and make sure there wouldn't be a communist falling domino effect ending up at our doorstep. Yet, we gave up and left Vietnam to go communist, but communism never got here. It didn't go to much of anywhere else. Anyway, with your kind of thinking, I'm glad I'm not 21. Back when I was 21, nuclear war getting set off was a bad enough worry. We need to send in the U.S. Army to free those people. Besides, if we don't stop the Russians in Ukraine they'll be on American doorstep next.
Can't user the Dollar and NOW they can't use the Yuan...the two largest currencies in the world. RUSSIA's ECONOMY IS FU@@ed
Russian banks say they've run out of yuan as Chinese firms pull away from the nation
Russia's banks have practically emptied their stash of yuan, largely because Chinese financial firms are spooked from doing business with the nation.
- Russia's yuan reserves are nearly depleted due to Chinese banks' fear of US sanctions.
- Russian banks urged the country's central bank to address the yuan liquidity deficit, causing the ruble to drop.
- China's hesitance stems from US threats of secondary sanctions over Russia's Ukraine war financing.
According to Reuters, lenders ured Russia's central bank to address a yuan liquidity shortage in the nation, with insiders stating that access to the Chinese currency was running dry.
Russia's ruble dropped nearly 5% against the yuan earlier this week, Retuers noted. The drop came shortly after Russia's finance ministry suggested the Central Bank of Russia would shrink its daily yuan sales, with central bankers selling just $200 million a day, down from the $7.3 billion sold daily in the last month.
Sberbank, a large state-owned lender in Russia, told Reuters it could no longer lend in yuan due to having "nothing to cover" the trade.
VTB, the second-largest lender in Russia, said it urged the central bank to counter the yuan liquidity shortage through currency drops, and added that exporters to the nation should sell yuan to Russia as well.
The shortage has stemmed from Chinese banks, who are more hesitant to trade currency in Russia after the US threatened to impose secondary sanctions on those doing business with Russia while it continues its war against Ukraine.
Payment scuffles between Russian companies and Chinese banks have escalated in recent weeks, with nearly all Chinese banks stopping transactions with Russia. Some banks have even returned payments for goods that had already been sent to Russia, out of fear of being targeted by sanctions, a Russian media outlet reported.
Russian businesses, meanwhile, have been locked out of billions in recent months, mainly due to payment issues at foreign banks, according to data from Russia's central bank.
The payment difficulties are a problem for Russia's economy, which has grown more isolated from global markets, and consequently, more reliant on China's yuan after being targeted by Western sanction in 2022.
Russia's central bank said the yuan had become its main exchange currency this year, accounting for more than half of all currency trades in the nation.
