Trump 47

No. That wasn't the subject.

The subject you brought up was "regular Christian republicans."

I guess this quote threw me off.

The only ones mostly staying solid are his "Christian" base. Why? Because if Trump isn't what they have claimed he is, they have to admit they sold out Christ for a charlatan. They gave up everything. They will double-down.

Then it kinda went all over the place from just "Christians" didn't it?

Cool. I hope you are right. If you are, maybe you can start a thread and post all of the videos of MAGA pastors at the pulpit and other Christian leaders on their shows and podcasts stating that they were fooled by a conman and cannot believe that they turned against the word of Christ and acted divisively toward their fellow Americans and fellow man worldwide in the name of this man. Independents are well, independent, so there are not good examples. But, the young have people like Joe Rogan, Candace Owens, Andrew Schultz saying, oops, that was not what we thought.

If the Christian thought leaders are going to be extremely vocal in support of him, but go away quietly, have they really turned against him?

You think that the whacko Christian leaders are still preaching it but their flocks have abandoned them?

Based on what? Where and how is this happening?

Do regular republicans follow whacko Christian leaders in flocks?

Stephen Miller’s Wife Condemns Teen Birth Rate Falling-‘Biological Destiny’

Katie Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, condemned the teen birth rate having declined in a recent post on X.

Miller shared a screenshot of a graph charting the birth rate decline in the U.S. by age group, that used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and was published in a recent Wall Street Journal article.

Pointing to the decline in the teen birth rate, Miller said that hormonal birth control is "killing population growth," and that "our biological destiny is to have babies."

I honestly do not understand your issue. That is who seems to be sticking with him the most. When I look at young people, hell even one of my own kids voted for him, they are now either anti-trump or just back to ignoring politics. Polls show independents have turned. But, my friends that see him as some sort of angel for getting rid of abortion and immigrants, they are still defending his every move.

You can chose to disagree with me, of course. But you haven't said anything that makes me feel what I said was not correct. Obviously, not every Christian was pro-Trump and not every pro-Trump Christian has stayed that way. But, as a block, they seem to be solid for him still.

I´ve come to the conclusion that tRump truly is playing 5D chess, in that he says weird @$$ stuff throughout his presidencies, just skirting the line (most of the time); and now he can start a war for no reason, threaten genocide, and bomb a girls school, and a college, and it apparently is not that big of a deal...well played...

Some are, but my point in my first reply is there are a lot that I am seeing, including myself, that are no longer supporting Trump. I see plenty of accounts on social media that string, right leaning Christians that aren’t supporting Trump anymore.

Christian leaders that are like Trump’s whacko spiritual adviser are not the norm to me.

WH officials promised ‘money and personal attacks’ in bid to push out GOP Senate candidate in Indiana:

Indiana state Senate hopeful Alexandra Wilson was promised “money” and threatened with “personal attacks” by White House officials in an attempt to boot her from a Republican primary, according to a new report.

According to a Friday report from NBC News, Wilson has become a point of focus for President Donald Trump’s team and Republicans. After a redistricting plan backed by Trump was rejected, he has reportedly taken a special interest in elections in the state and there has been a heavy effort to get Wilson out of the race. Trump has backed Brenda Wilson (no relation to Alexandra Wilson), a member of the Vigo County Council, against state Sen. Greg Goode, who voted against the redistricting plan.

The NBC News report refers to multiple calls and messages that Alexandra Wilson shared concerning the race.

According to the report:

Over several days in February before the deadline for primary candidates to withdraw, White House officials peppered Alexandra Wilson with phone calls, text messages and voicemails that she recorded and shared exclusively with NBC News. In the calls, White House aides first tried to entice her to leave the race with possible job options. On another call, they later warned her about the money and attacks that would follow if she didn’t.
Wilson said she was contacted by White House aides Matt Brasseaux, James Blair, and Marshall Moreau concerning the race. She was also reportedly hit up by Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith, the governor’s chief of staff, and a staffer for a conservative group. All were pressuring Wilson to drop out of the race before a deadline to drop in February.

According to the report, on February 11, Wilson received a call from Brasseaux, who directly gave her a White House contact to inquire about a job other than state senator.

“I’m going to ask the point-blank question here: Is there a pathway to where you would put some thought into another route to making an impact in your community?” the official asked.

Wilson was also warned at a later point that her past criminal charge could come back to haunt her. When she was 19, she was charged with resisting arrest. The felony charge became a point of contention and legal debate in the race despite Wilson getting the charge pled down to a misdemeanor. Her record was expunged in March.

Blair told Wilson that another point of confusion in the race could be her sharing a last name with another candidate.

“I just wanted to talk about that brass-tacks reality that I think is going to be really ugly. And I think we’re sort of working at cross purposes with two people with the same last name on the ballot,” Blair reportedly said.

“I had a hard time not feeling insulted the entire call,” Wilson said about talking to Brasseaux, who she said had little hope of offering her a job better than her current as a network engineer.

She said, “The admin position — I have a career, my job — that was a fraction of what I make a year. Let alone I had been adamant during that call of these are the local issues going on and this is what I’m passionate about.”

Wilson said Brasseaux and other White House and state officials were “very, very pushy” in getting her to drop out.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to the report by saying that “President Trump is the decision-maker in these races, and it’s incumbent upon his team that he’s empowered to find out the facts about all of these races across the country. His team is again doing their jobs to ensure the best outcome and as many wins across the board as we can get.”

Dr. Oz forced to admit humiliating mistake in his big blue state 'fraud' probe

Dr. Mehmet Oz made a glaring mistake when announcing a fraud probe into New York’s Medicaid program, undermining the Trump administration’s crusade to tackle abuse of federal benefits programs in blue states.

Oz, who serves as President Donald Trump’s administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, made the error last month in a social media video and letter to New York’s Democratic governor.

He claimed that New York’s Medicaid program provided 5 million people with personal care services, which assist people in need with basic activities such as bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.

That would have meant nearly three-quarters of the state’s 6.8 million Medicaid enrollees were using the program.

“That level of utilization is unheard of,” Oz said in the video, which was accompanied by a post saying that New York needed to “come clean about its Medicaid program.”

In fact, about 450,000 New Yorkers used the personal care services last year, or 6 to 7 percent of Medicaid enrollees, a CMS spokesman admitted to the Associated Press this week.

The agency had misidentified New York’s approach to billing codes and had since refined its methodology, spokesperson Chris Krepich told the AP.

What did he say during the egg roll? Did a bunch of 2nd graders hear him blame Sleepy Joe for hiding the eggs?

Directly to some kids he said the following

1. Joked they could sell his autograph for money

While sitting with children at an arts-and-crafts table, Trump told them:

  • “I could sign autographs for you guys. And then tonight, you could sell them for $25,000 on eBay.” [foxnews.com], [people.com]
When kids excitedly asked him to sign their drawings, he did so and continued joking.

2. Joked he could claim a child’s drawing as his own

After looking at one of the drawings, Trump said:

This drew laughter and excitement from the children sitting with him.

3. Talked to the children about Joe Biden and an “autopen”

Trump then shifted into criticizing former President Joe Biden, speaking directly to the kids, saying Biden used a machine to sign documents:

  • “Biden would use the autopen. He was incapable of signing his name, so they’d follow him around with this big machine. You know what it was called? An autopen.” [people.com], [nbcnews.com]
He repeated the point:

  • “He’d take the paper, hand it to his guys, sign it with an autopen and give it back. That’s not too good, right?” [people.com]

While in the vicinity of Kids but not talking directly to them but talking so they could hear

Used Profane and aggressive language while children were present

Shortly before and during the event, Trump addressed families—including children—from a balcony

Discussing war and military danger near children

Trump also referenced recent military actions and hostile territory (Iran), discussing rescue missions and dangers while children were playing on the lawn

Why it was considered inappropriate
Critics pointed to four main issues:

  1. Political attacks spoken directly to children
  2. Adult political allegations explained in child settings
  3. Use of profanity during a family event
  4. Self‑promotion and praise in a children’s context
Even fact‑checking outlets concluded the remarks were accurately reported and occurred with children present, though reactions varied by political perspective. [hellomagazine.com]
