Trump 47

Our government is not functioning as designed by our founding fathers. In ways, it has already been taken over by an authoritarian leader. The only question left is will that be allowed to continue and this will be the downfall of our republic or will we move back toward the ideals of our founding fathers when they formed this republic.

Sure, that sounds hyperbolic, but look at all the things have happened this year that only a few years ago every single one of us would say would never happen. Well, there are 3 more years.

WASHINGTON—When the news broke that the Kennedy Center would be renamed to include President Trump, it came as a surprise to the Senate’s Republican leader, John Thune of South Dakota—even though Thune is an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center board.

“Ah, I just heard about it,” Thune said in an interview on Fox News Channel. An act of Congress in 1964 had named the performing arts center to memorialize the slain John F. Kennedy. Thune concluded that Congress would “take a look at it for sure and…see where that goes.”

But by the next day, the Kennedy Center had already added Trump’s name to the building’s facade.

It was just the latest example of how the 119th Congress has mostly been relegated to a sidekick role, deferring to Trump’s muscular executive branch as it moves at a breakneck pace to execute the president’s agenda—imposing tariffs, slashing the federal workforce and carrying out military strikes in the Caribbean.

Bolder in his second term, Trump increasingly acts unilaterally to bypass or pre-empt the ponderous legislative process on Capitol Hill. He signed 225 executive orders this year, compared with 61 laws passed by Congress. That is five more executive orders than he signed during all four years of his first term, and more than any other president has signed in the first year of a term since Democratic President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1941. Back in 2017, Trump signed 55 executive orders and 96 laws.

Yep screw that freedom if the press nonsense I. The Constitution

Stephen Miller on 60 Minutes' Documentary exposing ICE & CECOT: "Every one of those producers at 60 minutes who engaged in this revolt, clean house and fire them, that's what I say."

I would love for Trump to come to Oklahoma to announce he's putting his name at the top of all Oklahoma buildings named after Oklahomans just to see how positive the reaction would be. I bet putting Trump's name at the top of Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at OSU would be quite readily accepted since Boren while married to a woman was a Democrat who supposedly had homosexual tendencies.

Flanked by renderings of the “Trump class” battleships at sea, Trump said he would take an active role in their design.

If I was Trump, I would be more concerned that the U. S. is reported as fielding no hypersonic missiles while Russia and China do. What about defense? Would these new ships just be like floating ducks to such advanced missiles? As someone like Trump, who chickened out from going to Vietnam by supposedly having bone spurs and so never served with the Navy or Marines, I sure wouldn't want him to help design any new battle ships.

That dumb@$$ really likes his toys and although loyalty to him is important for promotion now, anyone career military who is benefitting from that got in a position to be there by being really good at their jobs prior to his 2nd term. We probably have military tech that makes hypersonic missiles look like slingshots so Im not too worried about getting lapped by foreign adversaries due to the incompetence of this administration.

On Christmas Day, the Trump regime informed Americans, via a DHS tweet, that one only deserves the title of citizen of this nation—the designation "American"—if you accept Jesus of Nazareth as your Lord and Savior, i.e. are Christian.

Hitler said the same thing about the Jews

I am a Christian that believes in the separation of church and state, and I also disagree with most of what the current administration has done and said, but if this is your source for saying "On Christmas Day, the Trump regime informed Americans, via a DHS tweet, that one only deserves the title of citizen of this nation—the designation "American"—if you accept Jesus of Nazareth as your Lord and Savior, i.e. are Christian.", I'm not buying that at all.

Just my opinion, stuff like this hurts the cause.

Sure, in my ideal world, an official government tweet would not say that we share a Savior. But, it was tweeted on Christmas Day. And, even if someone doesn't believe in the Savior, the person tweeting certainly can believe it is their savior and tolerating those benign words on the holiday seems like how we should be treating each other.

The problem with all this is, when I'm talking to MAGA and pointing to the truly horrible things the government is doing, they always respond with "libs cry wolf about everything! You can't believe anything they say."

There is more than enough actual bad going on. Making a mountain out of a minor tweet hill on a holiday just seems petty and gives them fodder to ignore the real issues like false imprisonment, vast corruption, etc etc.

Not saying that you are wrong or even that I don't agree with you, but I wonder if you would feel the same way if this was a normal administration.
