I wish I shared your confidence.
While this administration often seems like bumbling idiots when it comes to governing, they’ve proven highly skilled at three things:
- Spreading misinformation and convincing many to believe it.
- Exploiting ethical rules by behaving unethically—rules never anticipated such disregard because voters were expected to reject those candidates.
- Claiming any unfavorable election was fraudulent.

Schumer outlines Democrat offer to reopen government and extend ACA subsidies
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer took to the Senate floor to outline Democrats' new proposal to end the shutdown.
"I've spoken with my caucus, and Democrats are offering a very simple compromise," Schumer said. "Democrats are ready to clear the way to quickly pass a government funding bill that includes health care affordability. Leader Thune just needs to add a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits to the CR so that we can immediately address rising health care costs."
"Now, the ball is in the Republicans' court. We need Republicans to just say yes," he said.

The Wal Mart special is 25% cheaper than last year (but you get less stuff). Besides Thanksgiving meal prep is a poor indicator of grocery inflation. A bunch of it is a loss leader to get people in the store. For example Hy Vee gives you a turkey when you buy a ham and has been doing it for years. So technically the price of my Thanksgiving turkey hasn't gone up in a decade but that doesn't mean that the can of tuna or loaf of bread I pick up as well because Im there hasn't doubled since COVID.
Eggs are cheaper. So hes bragging about avian influenza running its course?
Gas is getting cheaper but that's normal after the driving season with no unsettling disruptions in the industry. So if Trump wants to take credit for people driving less after everyone has taken summer vacations and school is in session then cool beans I guess. Is he gonna say its Bidens fault when we see a jump in prices right before memorial day?
As far as inflation, good luck convincing people that one is true. Go buy a pound of hamburger and let me know what you think.
