Trump 47

In a ruling against the Trump administration for punishing pro-Palestinian protesters for their free speech, a Reagan-appointed federal judge blasted Trump today for violating his oath of office.

“I fear President Trump believes the American people are so divided that today they will not stand up, fight for, and defend our most precious constitutional values so long as they are lulled into thinking their own personal interests are not affected.”

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and House Republican leaders refused requests from Democrats to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) on Tuesday, saying she will be sworn in when the House returns to regular session.

The move deprives a petition of the last signature it needs to force a vote on a bill to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein, a push that Republican leaders and President Trump oppose.

Looks like it's time for me to buy a gun and go to a range. Something I didn't particularly want to do.

Our president is talking about unleashing the military on citizens. Not just the brown ones, white ones too. Any resident MAGA's good with this?

When the dust clears, I hope everybody that has enabled this is hanged for treason. Including every single higher up in the military.
Interesting. Isn't that a major reason why gun rights supporters say the 2nd Amendment must stand? You never know when you might need your gun by the government turning on you.

I’m gonna say I am not a fan of this take. It perpetuates the myth of redemptive violence. Also, to believe we can arm ourselves in such a way that we can resist the government is foolish, IMHO. It’s exactly the reasoning used to advocate for assault rifles and extended magazines.

Additionally, I don’t think it’s any better to cheer for current leaders to be hanged for treason than it was for Jan 6ers to cheer for hanging Mike Pence.

We need to promote peaceful protest, hold our representatives accountable, ask them to hold this administration accountable, shine a light on the corruption, unite our country to preserve our democracy and stand against those who are transforming it into a dictatorship.

I know it’s easier said than done, but I don’t think violence—direct or indirect—is the answer.

It’s why I’ve said an authoritarian is a greater threat to 2A than Obama, Joe or Kamala.

He’s already going after many amendments. What makes a “Don’t Tread on Me” think he would never go after 2A? He’s already floated trial red flags.

Also the same w churches and other houses of worship. Any place where people can gather and hear a message contradictory to the admin.

The image shows a bar chart with polling data. The question asked was if there is a government shutdown at some point this year, which party do you think would be more to blame? 27 percent said they would blame Democrats while Republicans took a slightly larger share of the blame with 38 percent. But 31 percent of respondents said they would blame both parties. Just 4 percent said neither party would be to blame in the event of a government shutdown.

In a new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll, respondents blame Republicans slightly more for a potential shutdown than Democrats. But nearly a third of people say the blame for a shutdown would be shared across both parties.

This is the problem with the both sides equally bad rhetoric. We need more voters to pay attention more often than every 4 years.

Not only does it perpetuate the myth of redemptive violence, but even if successful, would be wildly unethical and immoral.

Non violent resistance is not just the ethical choice, but it is historically much more effective than violent resistance. Since 1900, only 26% of violent resistance has been successful in toppling an authoritarian regime or for a successful independence movement. Non-violent resistance has been successful 53% of the time--that is double the rate of success. Its the pragmatic choice.

If I was Dem. Leadership, I would immediately agree to a continuing resolution until November in exchange for two things….neither financial.

Grant the discharge of the Epstein resolution and have an official on the record vote on the release.

Then I would fund a single issue campaign candidate (pro victims’ rights, anti-molestors) against every Rep that voted against the release.

Well. at least we know beyond the shadow of a doubt which part is the pedophile party.

Just utter non stop lying and spreading falsehoods

Jesse Watters claims to have an ANTIFA training manual. (There's no such thing.) Ted Cruz: "ANTIFA is a terrorist organization, they have been one for years. It's paid for by Qatar, Iran, Communist China, and left-wing billionaires like George Soros and Bill and Melinda Gates."

I asked Trump's former OMB director Mick Mulvaney to simply acknowledge it's a lie that undocumented immigrants get ACA subsidies (they don't), and he ended the interview rather than answer the question.

"Would you agree that not a single dime of ACA subsidies goes toward undocumented immigrants?"

"Listen, we don't do this on this show... I'm not gonna do this anymore."

Happy Wednesday to everyone except for non-essential government workers. This might be one where you don't get backpay which really sucks for you, but we gotta pay for the unnecessary meeting of the generals somehow. Im sure you are glad to know your paycheck went to such a noble cause.

They just straight up tell you they are doing everything to sow division in the country . They aren't trying to negotiate or do anything but figure out how to do everything possible to upset Democrats. Pathetic

JD Vance: "That's the most important part. There were also the Trump 2028 hats, which I think made the minority leader in both the House and Senate very uncomfortable."

Literally taking voting rights away from American citizens

Republican officials are pushing for more voting restrictions on U.S. citizens who were born abroad and have never lived in the country, after unsuccessfully challenging their ballots in 2024.
