Looks like it's time for me to buy a gun and go to a range. Something I didn't particularly want to do.

Our president is talking about unleashing the military on citizens. Not just the brown ones, white ones too. Any resident MAGA's good with this?

When the dust clears, I hope everybody that has enabled this is hanged for treason. Including every single higher up in the military.

Interesting. Isn't that a major reason why gun rights supporters say the 2nd Amendment must stand? You never know when you might need your gun by the government turning on you.

I’m gonna say I am not a fan of this take. It perpetuates the myth of redemptive violence. Also, to believe we can arm ourselves in such a way that we can resist the government is foolish, IMHO. It’s exactly the reasoning used to advocate for assault rifles and extended magazines.

Additionally, I don’t think it’s any better to cheer for current leaders to be hanged for treason than it was for Jan 6ers to cheer for hanging Mike Pence.

We need to promote peaceful protest, hold our representatives accountable, ask them to hold this administration accountable, shine a light on the corruption, unite our country to preserve our democracy and stand against those who are transforming it into a dictatorship.

I know it’s easier said than done, but I don’t think violence—direct or indirect—is the answer.

It’s why I’ve said an authoritarian is a greater threat to 2A than Obama, Joe or Kamala.

He’s already going after many amendments. What makes a “Don’t Tread on Me” think he would never go after 2A? He’s already floated trial red flags.

Also the same w churches and other houses of worship. Any place where people can gather and hear a message contradictory to the admin.

Non violent resistance is not just the ethical choice, but it is historically much more effective than violent resistance. Since 1900, only 26% of violent resistance has been successful in toppling an authoritarian regime or for a successful independence movement. Non-violent resistance has been successful 53% of the time--that is double the rate of success. Its the pragmatic choice.

If I was Dem. Leadership, I would immediately agree to a continuing resolution until November in exchange for two things….neither financial.

Grant the discharge of the Epstein resolution and have an official on the record vote on the release.

Then I would fund a single issue campaign candidate (pro victims’ rights, anti-molestors) against every Rep that voted against the release.
