Circling back to this. Why don’t more critics call this a tax? Everyone uses the term “tariff” and the GOP has successfully convinced their base that the foreign nations pay for tariffs. But a tariff is a form of tax. It’s a tax we are paying. This is moving us from income tax to a consumption tax. Lower and middle class households spend proportionately larger % of income on expenses vs savings/investments. We also find it harder to buy alternatives that avoid tariffs. So, this is a regressive tax.Rand Paul tries to speak sense to Larry Kudlow on tariffs: "We're getting $2 trillion in taxes on top of all the other taxes that we have. So ultimately conservatives have to decide -- do they like taxes because they're Donald Trump's taxes?"

If anybody still believes that the foreign countries pay these taxes, they are idiots. Like blindingly stupid.Circling back to this. Why don’t more critics call this a tax? I was talking to somebody about how prices for everything in my restaurant have gone up. Their answer was "well, just buy 'Merican then!". I do, dummy. Tariffs upset the ENTIRE supply chain. A case of 3 bottles of bleach has doubled in cost. If 1 single thing in the supply chain used to make that bleach, like packaging or ink used to print on the bottle, is affected...cost goes up.
It's literally one of the most simple economic concepts.
If a party's policies are good and popular, it shouldn't have to worry about the need for gerrymandering or foolishly fantasize about making conservative Canadian provinces as new states. After all, remember how Reagan won 49 out of 50 states for reelection? It's too bad how Trump never said he learned a lot from Reagan.
Good point about indoctrination complainers likely being indoctrinated themselves elsewhere. The Christian Nationalists are sure indoctrinated and in turn want to indoctrinate those looking to be indoctrinated.I think some people are just willfully ignorant. They are so blinded by partisanship that they just cannot comprehend that what they are being told by their leaders is a lie. For all the talk you hear about indoctrination at schools people spend a lot of time being indoctrinated elsewhere
I think a lot of Oklahoma Republican women, probably even the majority of them, would vote for Republican political candidates who feel the same way toward women and all the more so if it's Nov. and the only other candidate is a Democrat. After all, Sen. Mullin won with 62% of the vote even though he said he is pro-life with no exception and wants a national ban on abortion.Look what Trump has given us.
