Trump and first lady Melania Trump will attend the opening night of "Les Misérables" at the Kennedy Center tonight.

Trump and his allies took over the D.C. theater center's board and the president now serves as chair of the Kennedy Center.

The president frequently played songs from musicals, including "Les Misérables," at his rallies.

CNN has reported that several cast members planned to boycott the production when Trump attends. NBC News has not independently verified the report.

hopefully tRump pays attention...

NEWS: The FIFA Club World Cup starts Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium, and the Department of Homeland Security says ICE and CBP will be on-site for security.

ICE also issued a reminder that non-U.S. citizens should carry proof of legal status—highlighting the reality that even attending a soccer game could mean being asked to show your papers.

BREAKING: Florida child welfare officials transferred a 17-year-old Honduran foster child, known as Henry, to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, prompting strong backlash over concerns it could discourage immigrant communities from seeking help.

The teen, potentially a labor trafficking victim, was taken from his Pensacola foster home in shackles—an act critics say may violate longstanding state child protection policies and undermine efforts to safeguard vulnerable youth.

I can guarantee Trump's favorite character is Javert.

I'm sure he thinks Javert is the hero of the entire musical/book.

I would argue his favorite character is Thenardier. Javert at least questions his beliefs on the end, but the Thenardiers learn absolutely nothing and make out pretty successfully by the end.

BREAKING: Trump regime is planning to deport the citizens of allied countries who DID NOT commit a crime to prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, including citizens of the United Kingdom, France, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Poland. Notably, Russians are absent from the list. The Trump administration will not be notifying the governments of those countries that their citizens are being sent to the facility meant for the world’s most notorious terrorists.

In order words, a 55% national sales tax on Chinese goods. I didn't vote for Trump, so I didn't vote for it.

Surely a number of American manufacturers and ones thinking about starting need materials and parts from China to make their stuff. They will simply go find a country where the Chinese tariffs are more like ZERO or no more than 10%. I see nothing in it about giving tax deductions to manufacturers to cover their tariffs on stuff they need from China. Hopefully, though, American manufacturers don't need much from China subject to such huge tariffs.

BEYER: Isn't this embarrassing?

BESSENT: You seem not to have seen the economic data. GDP growth has been quite substantial

BEYER: GDP growth is half what it was last year, sir

BESSENT: Job growth is solid

Senator Rand Paul tells Politico he has been uninvited from a White House picnic, a move which he describes as “incredibly petty.”

This comes after he criticized Trump’s military parade yesterday, saying:

“I love parades, but I’m not really excited about $40 million for a parade. I don't really think the symbolism of tanks and missiles is really what we’re all about….all the images that come to mind are Soviet Union and North Korea.”
