The military and national guard are just in LA to be used as posturing. During George Floyd, they were just standing around bored. They aren't going to shoot at civilians. They aren't psychopaths. There's too many level heads above them.
Also as someone who lives in Los Angeles. 99% of this nonsense is one-two city blocks in a municipal area near LAPD headquarters, the county jail and courthouses, it's not where a lot of people live. Saturday afternoon, there was a lot of action near the LA County municipal buildings in Paramount, a blue collar suburb about 10 miles south-southeast of downtown LA. (It's the kind of town that's something similar to a Midwest City or Sand Springs for Oklahoma references) after they tried to detain more guys looking for work at Home Depot.
The main contention point is just blocking the 101 freeway.
I live in LA, I've gone for a hike, went to my aunt's 80th birthday party, went to my day job, performed in murder mystery theater. The city barely knows it's going on to be honest. Don't let the media fool ya.
The BET Awards happened Sunday night a few blocks away without a hitch. The Dodgers play a few miles away, but they've been out of town while this nonsense has been going on.
The city is not on fire. Calling this a riot is major hyperbole.
News stations are just trying to keep you hooked. Most of the protest are like regular people; when it gets dark, the anarchists come out -
those people suck and should be fucking tear gassed and thrown in a cell.
This happened after 3 videos went wide circulation. ICE at an elementary graduation ceremony, ICE going after dudes at Home Depot and ICE arresting people that went downtown and were coming out of their immigration court date.
