Trump 47

He was in America illegally because he was afraid for his life from a rival gang. His wife, who is now supporting him for the payout, filed a restraining order against him for domestic abuse. I have no problem whatsoever with him being deported. An American court of law should have already done so.
So that’s a no.

Duly noted.

Yes, the Washington Times. That's totally an unbiased source.

Let's play a game.

I heard you were hunting homeless people for sport during COVID. Do you want to defend yourself against the accusation or should we just ship you off to some hole in Central America?

And if you say but I'm American so this doesn't apply to me, well I've got some bad news about that.

Fun game.
Good thing nobody posts unbiased sources around here. 🙄
Totally apples to apples.

Two fundamental non-negotiable values that I hold….that I have dedicated my entire adult work life to protecting and upholding… are:

1. Every person in this country…legally or illegally….immigrant or citizen…man, woman, child…have the right and are due fundamental due process protections…both substantive and procedural.

2. No single person….regardless of position, identity, or office is above the law.

Trump and his entire administration has shown me time and again they do not believe in either of those values.

For that reason alone, I could never support anything they do.

Period. Full stop.

Did you see him do it? I'm guessing a few of us know enough about it to verify that it happened.

It seems fairly consistent. The government says you did it and they aren't going to arrest you if you aren't guilty.
Now pretend a known gang member and wife beater fled the US to El Salvador. Would you want him deported back here or left there to avoid being murdered by his rival gang?

I expect nothing less than you standing up for what you believe in. Sorry me doing the same "disappoints" you.

It seems like your two fundamental points contradict each other because illegals engaging in criminal activity absolutely believe they are above the law or they wouldn't be here.

They don’t contradict each other at all.

Those illegal are absolutely subject to all of the laws ….civil and criminal…and aren’t above them regardless of what they “believe”. If they are violating the law, they will be convicted or deported or whatever after following due process requirements in doing so.

Compared to Trump who has argued in court (and sadly won at the Supreme Court in IMO one of the most despicable and anti-American decisions since Korematsu) that the President is immune from prosecution and can violate the law with impunity as long as he does it as an “official action” of the office.

I’m disappointed that you seemingly don’t realize (or don’t care) how quickly that your hand waving away of due process can and likely will be turned on people you aren’t “okay” with it happening to (by this or some other future administration). That’s why due process is a non-negotiable for me.

Where have you seen he was a known gang members in either country? I've yet to see a single court ruling that confirms either. Strange that he's "a known gang member" that has had no charges.

You don’t need to confirm or prove either to any standard of proof if you are okay with no due process.

All you need is the assertion by the government.

Completely agree for what they are doing. It's completely unconstitutional is so many ways, but they don't see these people as human so they don't care. They don't care that like many of the others he wasn't convicted of anything in either country, and he wasn't given a chance to defend himself. It's easier to just believe when Trump says they are gang bangers and not care what the truth is.

Theres reports now of a 19 year that was awaiting a court date and was arrested and sent off. He wasn't even someone they were looking for and he had no criminal ties, he was just there.

Back in the day, we were willing to shoot the British to establish those rights.
Now lots of folks just shrug & look the other way.
