Trump 47

Chill Dude Crimea and part of Ukraine have always been Russian. In 2014 a civil war broke out in Ukraine because the Russian people living in Ukraine lost representation in the government. They asked Russia for help. The Russians helped. There has been a small civil war going on sense then. It escalated in 2022. I'm not gonna pretend I know the details I don't. Half of Ukraine asking for NATO support I'm sure helped escalate it.

I am neither pro Ukaine or Pro Nato in this pissing match. Don't care which sides propoganda you run with. Only trying to say what most likely happened based on what we think is truth,

Those weren't my words. That was a quote from the article @steross provided by Mike Pompeo when he was Trump’s Secretary of State. That was Trumps policy during his first term, so the propoganda I'm running with came from the current president.

I think you really need to change the sources you are using for information because whatever it is, it's indoctrinating not educating.

Explain to me why we are one of the most hated nations in the world. Look at travel sites for safe travels. No one wants us there for anything but money.
Because Americans are self centered rude a-holes. It has nothing to do with past invasions. Notice the Brits, Germans, French are hated all across the world even with what they've done in the past. It's people's personalities that foreign countries hate.

Up until Trump EU and most of Asia Pacific were close allies. Governments like our country, people don't Iike our people.

Boy…

That is an interesting take Ivan…

Wow two people zzzzz me when I post this. Same two cheer you. Do you not see the problem.
Maybe they didn't agree with the proposal but also agreed with my point that yes the Dem party has been trying to pass that same thing for years with huge pushback, to include by Trump on the campaign trail.

Or maybe his post was of Trump trying to take credit for a proposal and action that he had previously opposed….which you correctly noted.

You can agree with the proposal while mocking a sycophant acting like Trump is the originator of the idea.

Holy shit man we made terrible decisions at the end of WW2, if world peace was our goal. Couple more bombs dropped to get rid of Stalin and communism. Would have taken 10 minutes. Seriously it was all about the money. Do you have any idea how much we made from the communist threat.
Let me get this right. You would have preferred if we dropped nuclear bombs we didn't have at the time on a country we weren't at war with immediately at the end of WW2, but at the same time oppose other actions taken by our country in early cold war..? What!?!?

True, either way would explain why. Was just trying to point out that there were valid reasons and not his "it's just about who posts it and they are just against me" view.

Former MAGA House Candidate Deletes Viral Tweet Claiming Trump’s Desk Was Bugged, removed from the Oval Office for Security Sweep.

He even Named a Made up a Non Existent Trump Administration Spokesperson for the story too.

It went MAGA viral and now MAGA morons are 1000% convinced this was all real and it is nothing more than a giant pile of crap.

A viral claim that the Resolute Desk was removed from the White House after being discovered to contain listening devices spread rapidly across Twitter, despite lacking any factual basis.

The false report was posted by former Republican House candidate Jack Lombardi II, whose now-deleted post alleged that a security sweep uncovered hidden surveillance equipment in the Oval Office. According to Ballotpedia, Lombardi ran unsuccessfully twice in the Illinois 14th Congressional district in 2022 and 2024.

Lombardi has appeared on MAGA Republican cable news shows and events, and his website invites visitors to join his “community of truth-seekers and get the facts you deserve—no more guesswork, just real, reliable information.”

From the Kansas City Star..reporting House GOP looking at applying a fair market income tax against corporate fringe benefits.

So tax on 401k match, Personal time off, Sick Time, Company Cell phone, Use of Company Vehicle, Education assistance...and more....would all become taxable income perks

GOP Considers Taxing ‘Fringe Benefits’

In an effort to offset revenue losses from President Donald Trump’s tax cuts, House Republicans are reportedly considering taxing fringe benefits. Grant Thornton’s Washington National Tax Office tax principal Jeff Martin said, “If enacted, workers would likely have to pay income tax on the fair market value of the fringe benefits they are getting from their employer.”

16 examples of fringe benefits

Employers can offer different types of fringe benefits. Here are 16 examples of fringe benefits available:

1. Employee stock options

Stock options are contracts that enable an investor to buy, trade, or sell stocks in a business. Employee stock options often give employees the chance to own stock in the company for which they work at a discounted price. This is a good fringe benefit because the value of your stock can increase when the company is performing well.Related: What Are Stock Options? (With Benefits for Employees)

2. Transportation assistance

Transportation assistance is compensation an employer pays to help cover the costs of getting to and from work. If you commute to work, your employer might offer you transportation assistance. This can mean full or partial reimbursement for buses, trains and parking, as well as gas reimbursement for your car.

3. Free or discounted meals

Employers may offer meals to employees while at work for free or with a discount. This can include breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as well as snacks or drinks, such as coffee, throughout the day. Companies sometimes offer this benefit on occasion rather than every day. For example, a business may cater meals for special events or they may host free lunches monthly to encourage employees to communicate with each other.Related: 15 of the Best Work Perks and Discounts for Employees

4. Free gym membership

If a business has an onsite gym or is located near a gym, they may offer free gym membership as a fringe benefit. This enables employees to exercise regularly, which offers many health benefits. This type of benefit can motivate employees and give them greater satisfaction, which can positively affect their work.

5. Tuition reduction or assistance

In some cases, employers might offer you help in paying for your tuition. With tuition assistance, you can continue your education and bring that knowledge into the workplace. Advanced degrees are a smart investment for employers as they can improve your skill set and the quality of your work.

6. Life, dental, or vision insurance

Some employers offer their employees various forms of insurance. The type of insurance and the coverage plans available may vary, and it's ultimately up to you to select the right plan for you and your family. Employer-provided insurance is a good benefit because it's often more cost-effective.

7. Childcare reimbursement

Some employers offer to pay for some or all of your childcare costs during the time you're at work. Others offer childcare on-site so employees can bring their children to the work site with them. This is a great benefit to retaining employees who become parents, as childcare reimbursement can help parents afford to work more while managing their childcare costs.Related: What Are Compensation Packages? (Definition and Example)

8. Company-owned vehicle

If your position requires a decent amount of travel, your employer might offer you a company-owned vehicle. This is a great fringe benefit for employees who have to pay for gas out-of-pocket and use their regular vehicles to perform their job responsibilities. A benefit of using a company-owned vehicle is that your employer handles expenses such as gas and maintenance.

9. Unlimited paid time off (PTO)

While some employers offer a set number of paid days off, the promise of unlimited days is an up-and-coming fringe benefit in many workplaces. Often, unlimited PTO is dependent upon employees meeting work expectations. Having more personal and paid time off can increase job satisfaction and productivity, so it's also beneficial for the employer.Related: Everything You Need to Know About Unlimited PTO (With Tips)

10. Employee discounts

Employee discounts can apply to any product or service a company offers. These discounts enable employees and sometimes their families to purchase company products at a lower price. Often, employee discounts take a percentage off of the regular market price. This fringe benefit can also help increase sales and employee loyalty.

11. Discounted amusement park tickets

Discounted tickets to theme parks are a great fringe benefit for employees who enjoy visiting various amusement parks with friends or family. This is a great way for employers to show they believe in a healthy work-life balance. Employers may offer tickets for nearby attractions or ones that are popular.

12. Retirement plan contributions

One of the most-coveted fringe benefits is an employer-contributed RRSP. These plans help you save for retirement. When employers match or make qualified contributions to your RRSP, you see an increase in the amount of your overall retirement.Related: How Employer-Sponsored Pension Plans Work

13. Company cell phone

If your position requires you to spend a decent amount of time on the phone, employers might offer you a company cell phone. This saves money on monthly usage costs as well as the price of the phone itself. A company cell phone also enables you to separate your work and personal life.

14. Moving expenses

Your employer might offer you relocation assistance if you don't yet live in the area. Moving can be expensive, so having a company pay for these costs can be a great convenience. Employers may also help with expenses if you move to a different location where the company operates.

15. Free or discounted lodging

Employers might offer you free or discounted lodging at a hotel or similar establishment if you travel on the job. For example, if you're speaking at a conference in a different city, your employer might pay for your stay at a hotel. This helps encourage employees to seek opportunities for professional development.

16. Paid sick days

It's common for most employers to offer a certain number of paid sick days per year for the times when you are ill. These days are in addition to other forms of paid time off. Offering paid sick days is important to promoting health and safety for all employees in the work environment.

'His Mind Is Full Of Mush': John Bolton Rips Trump After 'Unthinkable' Move

“I think it’s an indication his mind is full of mush and he says whatever comes into it,” Bolton said. “He believes Vladimir Putin is his friend, and y’know you don’t call your friends ‘dictators.’”

Bolton added that Trump hasn’t liked Zelenskyy since the 2019 phone call in which he asked the Ukrainian president for dirt on Joe Biden, leading to his first impeachment.

“So, it’s no sweat off his back to go ahead and call Zelenskyy a dictator,” he said. “This is somebody who is not fit to be president. He can’t tell America’s friends from its enemies.”

Choctaw Oklahoma Mayor

Choctaw Mayor Chad Allcox — a supporter of Trump — wrote on Facebook that federal workers are "under attack."

"To be clear, I support the movement President Trump has built, but I do not support what his team is doing to federal employees, especially in the Department of Defense," Allcox wrote. "Those who work to protect this country deserve better than this treatment. If we don’t implement a phased, structured approach to fixing our government, we’re not just hurting today’s workforce — we are crippling our future. At this rate, it could take decades to rebuild what’s being recklessly torn apart right now."

40% of contracts canceled by Musk's DOGE are expected to produce no savings

Nearly 40% of the federal contracts that President Donald Trump's administration claims to have canceled as part of its signature cost-cutting program aren’t expected to save the government any money, the administration's own data shows.

The Department of Government Efficiency, run by Trump adviser Elon Musk, last week published an initial list of 1,125 contracts that it terminated in recent weeks across the federal government. Data published on DOGE's “Wall of Receipts” shows that more than one-third of the contract cancellations, 417 in all, are expected to yield no savings.

That’s usually because the total value of the contracts has already been fully obligated, which means the government has a legal requirement to spend the funds for the goods or services it purchased and in many cases has already done so.

“It’s like confiscating used ammunition after it’s been shot when there’s nothing left in it. It doesn’t accomplish any policy objective,” said Charles Tiefer, a retired University of Baltimore law professor and expert on government contracting law. “Their terminating so many contracts pointlessly obviously doesn’t accomplish anything for saving money.”

Dozens of them were for already-paid subscriptions to The Associated Press, Politico and other media services that the Republican administration said it would discontinue. Others were for research studies that have been awarded, training that has taken place, software that has been purchased and interns who have come and gone.

An administration official said it made sense to cancel contracts that are seen as potential dead weight, even if the moves do not yield any savings. The official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.

In all, DOGE data says the 417 contracts in question had a total value of $478 million. Dozens of other canceled contracts are expected to yield little if any savings.

“It's too late for the government to change its mind on many of these contracts and walk away from its payment obligation,” said Tiefer, who served on the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Tiefer said DOGE appeared to be taking a “slash and burn” approach to cutting contracts, which he said could damage the performance of government agencies. He said savings could be made instead by working with agency contracting officers and inspectors general to find efficiencies, an approach the administration has not taken.

The Trump administration says it’s targeting fraud, waste and abuse in the government. DOGE says the overall contract cancellations are expected to save more than $7 billion, an amount that has been questioned as inflated by independent experts.

The canceled contracts were to purchase a wide range of goods and services.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded a contract in September to purchase and install office furniture at various branches. While the contract does not expire until later this year, federal records show the agency had already agreed to spend the maximum $567,809 with a furniture company.

The U.S. Agency for International Development negotiated a $145,549 contract last year to clean the carpet at its headquarters in Washington. But the full amount had already been obligated to a firm that is owned by a Native American tribe based in Michigan.

Another already-spent $249,600 contract went to a Washington, D.C., firm to help prepare the Department of Transportation for the recent transition from President Joe Biden's administration to Trump's.

Some of the canceled contracts were intended to modernize and improve the way government works, which would seem to be at odds with DOGE’s cost-cutting mission.

One of the largest, for instance, went to a consulting firm to help carry out a reorganization at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, which led the agency’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The maximum $13.6 million had already been obligated to Deloitte Consulting LLP for help with the restructuring, which included closing several research offices.

MAGA Rages After GOP Rep Dan Crenshaw Appears to Threaten to Kill Tucker Carlson

Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s apparent threat to Tucker Carlson drew backlash from the right on Monday, especially after the Texas Republican was caught out denying it ever happened.

In a hot mic moment after an interview with British journalist and GB News correspondent Steven Edginton, Crenshaw was asked if he had ever met the former Fox News host.

“We’ve talked a lot—through Twitter,” Crenshaw said, referring to how the pair have had contentious exchanges online.

Carlson once called the lawmaker one of “the dumbest” Republicans and “eyepatch McCain,“ while Crenshaw described Carlson as a “cowardly, know-nothing elitist.”

The former Navy SEAL then told Edginton, according to video of the exchange posted on X by GB News: “If I ever meet him, I’ll f---ing kill him.” The video was later deleted, but not before MAGA sunk its claws into it.

Crenshaw, when asked later by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene whether he “threaten[ed] to kill my friend,” replied on X, “lol, no.”

A representative for Crenshaw did not return a Daily Beast request for comment.

Criticism from the right soon followed. Sean Davis, CEO of The Federalist, replied to Crenshaw, “You know there’s video of you saying otherwise, right?”

Henry Rodgers, a former reporter for the Daily Caller, which Carlson co-founded, likewise alerted him to the video.

It didn’t take long for Carlson himself to get involved.

“Why don’t you come sit for an interview and we’ll see how you do?” the podcast host addressed Crenshaw on X. “I’ll send you my address.”

Trump administration frees up billions in federal aid for Pennsylvania: Shapiro the hill

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) said the Trump administration has agreed to unfreeze over $2 billion in state funding that he claimed was unlawfully withheld, in part citing his recent lawsuit against the administration.

“Our continued pressure on and engagement with the Trump Administration, in which we demanded the Administration comply with the legal injunctions currently in place and made clear that we were ready to seek immediate relief from the courts, every dollar we identified at the filing of our lawsuit is currently unfrozen and once again accessible to Pennsylvania state agencies, in accordance with legal injunctions currently in place,” Shapiro said during a Monday news conference.

“With the funding restored, we will now resume critical programs and infrastructure projects that have been jeopardized by this illegal freeze,” he added.

The Democratic governor noted that he repeatedly brought up his concerns on Friday, while attending a meeting of the National Governor’s Association and the president.

“When I was at the White House on Friday, I repeatedly brought up our frozen federal funding to President Trump’s senior team and cabinet,” he told reporters. “I urged them to follow the law and honor their agreements with Pennsylvania.”

“As a result of that direct engagement, our funding is unfrozen, they are now following the law, and we will continue to press our case,” Shapiro added.
