Protesting “recent events,” while stopping short of directly naming the Pentagon’s push to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion programs and educational material.
Middle School assistant principal Alexis Small said the school protest occurred at 1 p.m., with 55 students walking out of class. The group gathered in the courtyard for about 50 minutes, Small said in the memo to parents Tuesday.
The Department of Defense Education Activity “respects our students’ rights to peacefully express their opinions through speech and other means as long as it is done respectfully, does not interfere with the rights of others, and does not disrupt learning in the school,” Small said. Since President Donald Trump’s return to office in January, a flurry of changes inside government have rippled across the Defense Department.
Hegseth has made the removal of diversity initiatives a focal point during the opening weeks of his tenure, cancelling official identity events such as Black History Month. Hegseth says that diversity programs divide the military community and that he wants to emphasize unity. The push also has prompted a review of curriculum at Pentagon K-12 schools.
A DODEA memorandum issued last week names eight specific materials that are not to be used in classes pending a review that could be expanded, according to school officials.
To comply with directives, US Schools on Military Bases World Wide have removed books from library shelves, and student organizations such as the Pride club and Women in STEM have been disbanded at some locations. Instructions also were given to remove bulletin board material that could be flagged for violating the president’s executive orders, including one on ending “radical indoctrination” in K-12 schools.

They weren't actually gold bars (although the Trump EPA pick did share a video showing gold bars being dumped off a chip ...made by the now infamous Project Veritas group that has made and tried to pass off SEVERAL fake videos in the past to drive forward Far Right Agendas), It was $20 billion in Green Energy Programs and Grants for Green Energy Construction awarded by the Biden Admin Last Summer that was APPROVED AND PASSED by CONGRESS.....and 8 entities have already received their Payout from these Programs.

There was nothing criminal here, I mean my God, Kamala Harris announced this money and this Green Project Investment Last Summer when it was passed publicly as she was gearing up to Replace Biden. Announced it with camera's in her face and broadcast Live across the world. But Now they are claiming it was all in gold bars...and Missing...and they Found....it.......and Then LATER claw all of that back.
YOU ARE GETTING PLAYED...Truth is..it was all above board, it wall all passed and approved by Congress....and because Trump and his Ignorant Appointees don't LIKE what it is being spent on....they are going to claim fraud and also going to try to claim they SAVED this Money from Criminal Activity.....NONE Of which is true.

and there is no problem with him not liking them. But if he wants to go after those Funds that Congress has ALREADY voted on PASSED AND APPROVED and the Money has been Allocated OUT......then he has ZERO authority to go and pull it back and take it.

He can sue and ask Congress to Pass Legislation to Recover it ...but the POTUS has ZERO authority and Especially the head of the EPA has ZERO authority to confiscate already Congressionally Appropriated and Passed Funding.

Just like the approved contracts that are already having work done. He has no authority, and the government has no legal standing to cancel contracts without evidence of wrongdoing by the contractor.
Wonder why the previous administration was in such a rush to get the money out the door at the end. You know no new project will get approved by this EPA.

Funding to be PRESERVED and SAVED and NOT CUT because (AND I QUOTE) some provisions may need to remain intact because they are important to constituents in some GOP-led districts across the country.

“I want to see what the specific result and whether the vast majority of those subsidies are going to be gone, because right now I’m not getting that firm commitment yet,” Roy said.

President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order Friday that would halt federal funding for schools and universities with covid-19 vaccination mandates still in place. A wide range of schools, universities and employers moved in 2021 to require that students and workers receive vaccines against the coronavirus as the pandemic ravaged America. Those organizations have generally dropped those requirements as the pandemic receded.

I'm glad I'm not a teacher and I don't plan on having kids in the next few years and mine is far enough along in school to already be around others vaccinated kids.
It's going to be a nightmare if they pull vaccine requirements that have been in place for 40+ years and we start having more and more kids coming through unvaccinated.
I just read that no states are requiring them so this doesn't do anything.
Fun fact-where I live you can't get boosters for kids (or at least you couldn't when I looked into it) because local pharmacies don't want to carry it due to lack of demand.
