Trump 47

seems like the leader of a country and billionaire, etc. would be so confident they wouldn't be so petty and insecure and childish...

Trump spares turkeys — but not his political opponents — at annual pardoning ceremony NPR

Trump said he had a joke prepared about Pritzker, but "I refuse to talk about the fact that he's a fat slob. I don't mention it."

Scattered laughter rippled through the audience, which sat under cloudy skies and an intermittent drizzle on the Rose Garden patio.

Quiet, piggy!
Seriously, and I know the cult will say "He has always talked like that......" which has some truth as he would when secretly recorded or on Howard Stern type venues. But, this was a White House ceremony. If anyone can find me a similar video from 10 to 15 years ago of him in any formal situation, even Oprah or something like that, speaking this way I might change my mind. But I don't think it exists. He is clearly disinhibited. The only question is it because:
-he has so much power now that he doesn't care
-he does it purposefully to keep his hateful base happy
-he has declined to the point of disinhibition out of his control

I don't think no 2 applies because it was completely unnecessary. He sends out enough tweets (or socials-IDK what we call his platform messages) with hateful rhetoric to keep his base happy. This was about as vanilla a public event as it gets for a sitting president so anyone with an ounce of self control isn't going to go super political there.

I will occasionally come across interviews and talks he gave 20+ years ago and he is a completely different person in them. 90's Trump was an @$$ but very intelligent. Even 2016 was pretty different than what we see now. Either he is so drunk with power he no longer GAF or he is having cognitive issues and just says whatever is on his mind.

Well, if it is fronto-temporal cognitive issues we might be getting ready for a wild ride. In 4 years he can get much worse. And, the nation has for whatever reason decided to allow this one man to say things that no president in our history would be allowed to say. How far can it go?

At this point he has called people very rude names, made fun of their bodies, and called for the death of sitting congressmen without even a whiff of a call for censure.

If two years from now he calls a reporter a fat c#^t or says "I'd shoot that democrat myself if nobody else does" are we going to just accept it? Because that level of dialogue could be where this is heading.

Im guessing its just another year.

If the VP assumes the role of the president before the first two years of his term he can only run for reelection once. If he assumes it after 2 years he can run twice. Im guessing this is something on the mind of several people who have power behind the scenes.

Trump says it 'may be necessary' to extend Obamacare subsidies

“Well, we're looking at different alternatives. I mean, I like my plan the best,” Trump said before going on to repeat his idea to pay Americans directly to spend on health care.

“Don't give any money to the insurance companies, give it to the people directly. Let 'em go out, buy their own healthcare plan. And we're looking at that, if, if that can work. We're looking at that. That's sort of taken off,” Trump said on Tuesday.

So give money to the people directly to......give it to the insurance agencies.

Hear me out Donny.....how about....giving the money directly to the health care providers like we do with Medicare? But for everyone?

Like every just about every other civilized, advanced government in existence does.

Im 100% convinced be thinks Obamacare is an actual health care insurance plan. And he thinks Obama named it after himself because he can't understand why someone who is President wouldn't.
