Trump 47

...
Leavitt said the Biden administration and the US Agriculture Department “directed the mass killing of more than 100 million chickens, which has led to a lack of chicken supply in this country, therefore a lack of egg supply, which is leading to the shortage”.

Leavitt’s statement is partially accurate about the culling of millions of chickens, but she omitted important details and context about why that happened.

First, the chickens were killed to prevent the spread of the highly pathogenic avian influenza, or bird flu.

Second, it’s been longstanding USDA policy to cull an entire flock of birds once bird flu has been detected, including during Trump’s first administration.

If you still don't understand how tariffs work, and how they are going to completely eff the common person, you're either very stupid or willfully ignorant.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his country will place 25% tariffs on $155bn in US imports in retaliation for Trump's imposition of tariffs on imports from Canada

Trump just wasted millions of gallons of water (it was literally dumped into an arid lakebed where it will evaporate) because he doesn't understand basic science or firefighting methods.

When our water (and food) prices shoot up later this year, you can thank Trump.

Didn't vote for the guy. Really. Not one time. Not in any primary. Not on any Election night. But I'm an outsider here no doubt.

My outsiders take on his first two weeks is that its been predictable. He's pretty much doing what he told American he would do. Left is going mad. Nothing here is a surprise.

For me, we are not going to know what this is going to look like for another year or two. If you are losing your mind now, it's going to be lost by midterms.
So because he said he's going to do all these things, we should just be ok with it?

If somebody tells me they are going to punch me in the face, and then does it, I'm not gonna say "Well, my fault! You told me you were going to". I get what you are saying, so it's more of a rhetorical question / statement.

It won't be an issue for anything by Monday.

Yes, he'll either get what he wants or say he got what he wants. They both need us more than we need them but Trump doesn't want inflation and tariffs on Canada and Mexico will be inflationary on protein in particular. We've got 300k cattle waiting to cross the Mexican border for sixty days now because of a screwworm fly. Without them and the subtraction of Canadian beef imports to our northern plants cattle (ie..meat) prices will skyrocket and they are already at historical rates. He can't have that. He'll get some concessions from them (see Colombia) and Monday morning he'll be strutting around like a Banty rooster.

Monday (morning, no less), you say….

he told us he would deport (he is doing that) but many times he said he would go after the ´bad hombres´/violent offenders first (not happening)...he promised to lower grocery prices (doing the opposite)...said the russia/ukraine war would be done (nope)...he is following through on his tariffs (which will cause economy go go downwards and prices to go UP - so much for lower groceries)...he did promise to deal with DEI (but believes anything that goes wrong is because of DEI - that hints of racism - when that is what you attack first)...he promised to get rid of rights for transgenders (so good for him???!!!)...he is trying to destroy obama care (again)...he still believes climate change is a hoax (so is that a promise?)...

but to me the 2 biggest things people wanted him to accomplish and he said he would do it; was border and prices of food/gas...so heś 50%, and I woud say 25% cuz he´s not deporting who he said...

Summary BBC

USAID security leaders fired for not passing classified information to DOGE.

Musk’s DOGE crew lacked high-enough security clearance to access that information, so the two USAID security officials — John Vorhees and deputy Brian McGill — were legally obligated to deny access.
