I think it’s just another grift. Just like w his other tariffs when you peel back you see exemptions. How many of those exemptions are tied to grift.

My guess as to what we are seeing is a result of several things.
His poll numbers which should mean squat on leading by convictions are eating at him. And they are going to get worse when his policies really start to impact America and his big beautiful bill is law.
He’s not accomplishing his agenda at the pace he wanted to. DOGE was a disaster. He’s not deporting at the pace he wants.
He’s suffering defeat after defeat (w some wins sprinkled in) in the court system.
What we are witnessing is a temper tantrum combined with designed chaos intended to distract.
