Trump 47

How does he have a 50% approval rating? Who is happy about all this crap?
well, when you look at party differences...one poll I looked at showed approval % at 13% Dems, 40% Ind, and 79% Reps...disapprove: 85% dems, 50% Ind, and 19% Reps...but yeah, shocking that it´s even at 50%...people are still pissed at the economy (they don´t realize it was trending up?!) and grocery and gas prices...it´s OK to $h!t on humans and discriminate against as long as we get the border under control and I can buy eggs...

Making it hard for people (mandatory in office) and now offering a large severance package. Yes. He is very serious about shrinking fed employment
The post office did something similar to that for mail sorters in 2009 and again in 2013. They got $15,000 bonuses for retiring early. Advances in automation were making their jobs obsolete. It likely simply reflects that other federal jobs are becoming obsolete with many more to come from AI.

If you can do your job 100% from home, there is a good chance AI will take your place in the next decade. Same goes for a lot of office work.

I think most kids in college right now would do best to drop out, go to trade school, and become electricians. Its going to get wild.

why republicans? just why?

If the only argument is that it's "not allowed per the bible", then it should be shot down immediately. Why do we even have separation of church and state, if not for this exact reason. I don't believe in god, and I shouldn't have to live my life based on some others beliefs. How effing hard is that to get through peoples thick skulls?

They don’t think there’s a separation of church and state they think that we are a Christian theocracy.

I understand the message of your post and agree with you.......

That being said let's look at this another way. In one generation the acceptance of same sex marriage has more than doubled across the entire political spectrum. We are a generation away from near if not universal support. My mom and dad who will die in the next 20 years......they are your hold outs.....I bet the number of people on both sides that are against that are under 50 approaches 0......it will be like Mormons and zealots that are all that is left and not in numbers that matter.

while I agree that it is generational, a study I looked at from PRRI (public religion research institute) from ´23 showed:
Republican seniors (65+) who were in favor of same sex marriages was 39%, while Democrat seniors was at 79%, and Independents at 65% in favor.
ages 30-49, Republicans were in favor at 52%, Democrats at 83%, and Independents at 74%.
All parties: % of favor: 18-29 (71%), 30-49 (71%), 50-64 (65%), 65+ (61%)
so republicans still bring down the numbers...

Rarely do we agree on a topic, but this is one. There is zero governmental reason that any two adults (regardless of sex) should be prohibited to marry.
What that rep in Idaho is attempting to do truly is “US going backwards” and a quick way for GOP to lose independent voters.

Absolutely......the lowest demos are going to die the replacements are going to be almost 100% for and I don't see the 18-49 continuing to drop over time.

First year in that graph is 1995.......take it back to 85 and 75 I bet it gets really ugly. Ships turn around slowly and this one made a massive correction between 2012 and 2020 when the country had presidents from each party. I think the current dip in same sex marriage is from trans issues (not making a statement pro or con just musing) which are still unpopular with the masses dragging it back down. 2035 I'll take the over at national acceptance being greater than 85% all demos.....90% if you give some odds. Going from a low of let's call it 22, 21 and 16% to a high of let's call it 55, 78 and 85% is tremendous progress in 20 years. 2005 you put it to a national vote and it loses and the opposition isn't scared.....2025 it resoundingly wins.

Grant payment freeze is paused "due to confusion"

It appears that they only rescinded the OMB memo.
