I just don't see how we could do worse than the current and previous shitshows.
I'm pretty sure we have said this since 2004. Yet, here we are, with a constant and consistent descent.
Until Citizens United is repealed, it will keep happening, IMO.
The other problem is, politics has become such a circus <see Citizens United> that nobody in their right mind even wants to run for office. There's a reason we don't see generals and other highly intelligent leaders step up, they want no part if it. Only true narcissists and career criminals even want to try anymore.

So, this is what happens when you defund the IRS. People don't file or can't be audited and the government loses out on income. It costs way more than the funding savings.
So now DOGE needs to save at least 1/2 Trillion just to break even. So far they've saved essentially pennies by comparison.

And surely a number of people don't vote because they feel if they went to vote, it was the result of being gullible enough to be conned by politicians and don't like feeling that way when voting.
