Ronald Reagan schools Trump on the stupidity of tariffs | Opinion
Republicans once had a much different way of thinking about tariffs, as Ronald Reagan once explained. If only Donald Trump had listened to him.

Once again, make America more attractive for manufacturing from overseas by eliminating the income tax on corporations. They will no longer be passing their income taxes on to us. And make up for lost revenue by raising income taxes on millionaires and billionaires. The corporate income tax in China can be up to 25%.We have gone from prices will go down on day one to...yeah prices are going up even higher now, no we don't how much or how long , shut up and accept it

Since Trump is so pro-Isreal, it will be interesting to see if he sees to it that she is fired.“This is a person who truly seems to be steeped in the most horrifying corners of the internet,” says Chris Hayes on Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson’s social media posts parroting neo-Nazi and Russian propaganda.

Bitcoin reserve: Why has Trump set up a US crypto stockpile?
The reserve will hold cryptocurrency forfeited to the government in criminal or civil proceedings, said the White House.www.bbc.com
Maybe this is me not being an economist, but I don't like any government entity holding large portions of its reserve currency in something that varies that much in value. Especially when using it would lower its value.I like keeping the Bitcoin we presently have from seizures and such as a strategic reserve.
If that's all they do, I'm good with it.
I am extremely dubious of using dollars to purchase more. That seems too speculative and an opening for insider trading as large government purchases could affect the market to the benefit of insiders.
I agreed with your first paragraph for the most part by saying it's too speculative.Maybe this is me not being an economist, but I don't like any government entity holding large portions of its reserve currency in something that varies that much in value. Completely agree on the risk for insider trading, and I think it is also more at risk for theft/embezzlement.
I probably wasnt clear there but I wasn't arguing with you (see theI agreed with your first paragraph for the most part by saying it's too speculative.
If we continued to hold the Bitcoin we have seized as a strategic reserve that wouldn't be a large portion of its reserve currency and would not cost the US anything as it was almost all exclusively obtained as a result of seizures and forfeitures.
Once again, too bad how Trump said he learned a lot from Tricky Dicky Nixon, rather than from Ronald Reagan.![]()
