Trump 47

Can somebody here tell me exactly what the problem with trans people is?

And spare me the "but muh womens sports!". That's been proven to essentially be a non issue. As has the "bathroom" conversation. As has grooming of children. If you are worried about grooming, I'll show you this thing called the "catholic church". It's going to blow your mind!

How does a trans person existing make YOUR life worse? How are they a threat to society?

I promise it would be easier on you if you just admitted that you hate things you don't understand.

I have a person close to me that's transitioning right now. Do I understand it? Not really, tbh. But I don't have to understand it to show respect. Guess how badly it affects my day to call them "her" instead of "him". Not at all. The only way it affects me is having a little more compassion for how much more difficult their life is going to be.
Too many people are either side of an issue always make things worse.
* On the far right you have some people that are 1) just disgustingly disrespectful and think it is funny to make fun of people that are different; 2) lack compassion to call people by their preferred name or pronoun.
* On the left you have people that 1) can’t seem to respect the importance of women’s sports; 2) hold little compassion for privacy of young girls and think males should be allowed in women’s bathrooms.

I think most people want to allow people to live their life how that individual chooses to live it…but the “news” in our society is often, if not always, generated by those that are the loudest.

That is fairly normal. Dems don’t cheer for anything a GOP President says and Republicans don’t cheer for anything a Dem President says.

However, for the love of god…how in the world can Democrats sit on their hands while Trump honors a 13-year old cancer survivor? I thought it was fake right-wing news that they didn’t stand or applaud the young man, but just saw the video clip. An absolute horrible look for the Dems.
One party not clapping for the other (policy wise) has been going on for as long as I can remember, but it hasn't always been this bad. Everyone from both parties used to clap for the feel good moments. However, what I can't stand even more than that is the heckling from members of Congress. Regardless of your political beliefs, respect the office and respect the room you're in. This ain't the trailer park.

That never used to happen until 2009 when Joe Wilson heckled President Obama, now it happens every year. It's childish and makes Congress look like a bunch of idiots.

Trump revives his obsession with acquiring Greenland, saying the U.S. will get it “one way or another.”
Yet Trump contradicted himself by saying before that, "And I also have a message tonight for the incredible people of Greenland. We strongly support your right to determine your own future, and if you choose, we welcome you into the United States of America..."

The news (including social media, people taking things they read on memes as gospel, propaganda from adversarial countries) is what's causing our country to be in the state we're in. Unfortunately I'm not sure how we fix it.

I suspect far right Christian conservatives are uncomfortable with women IDing as men may want to fit in with the patriarchy. A few of them don't even want women to continue the right to vote. There is no need for Christian conservatives to hate them, judge them or understand them. In their prayers, they should just be thankful to God they don't walk in their shoes.

In his speech it was nice of Trump to have concern about the highly increased rate of Autism in children and wonder what is going on. It's too bad he has minus zero concern for children with gender dysphoria or other issues related to gender. As Trump thinks, I don't believe it starts first with adults putting such ideas in their heads. Some children as young as 2 or 3 start having gender issues on their own. Later a counselor may advise the bewildered parents to let the child start first grade dressed in the gender he or she IDs with.

That isn't rocket science. We are better at identifying it as a health issue now than at any point in our history. I'm sure there were alot of non verbal kids who were just seen as mentally handicapped without any other explanation. You go back far enough and we were probably calling people on the spectrum witches and burning them at the stake. Sucks but history hasn't been kind to those society sees as different.

Putting Tarriffs on Canada because the amount of fentanyl caught at the Canadian border went from a zip lock bag size to a carry bag size...this is the justification that Trump is using to justify his tariffs on Canada

Trump claims he put Tarriffs on Canada because they hadn't done enough to stop fentanyl from coming across the border

Reporter: “It’s just 43 pounds that were found last year. That’s less than a carryon suitcase. Is that a lot of fentanyl compared to, say, Mexico? So what else does Canada need to do?”

Karoline Leavitt: “Last year alone, there was a 2000% increase in illegal fentanyl…”

Reporter: “It was only 43 pounds, Karoline.”

Gee it's almost like he DIDNT HAVE A PLAN...maybe just concepts of how much it was going to cost him to try to deport 20 million people

The Trump administration has suspended military deportation flights after finally realizing it was too expensive to pay $20,000 per migrant to fly them out of the country on C17 and C130 aircraft. The Wall Street Journal reported that the flights take longer, carry fewer people, and are far more expensive than flights on civilian planes.

Leavitt admits that Trump’s tariff tax hike will cause "a little bit of disruption" to middle class Americans but they should be “grateful” for it

I'm guessing he's concerned because RFK claims it's tied to childhood vaccines, and his people are anti-vaxers

far fetched, random thought on illegal border crossings...tRump want Canada and Mexico to do better in helping to keep people from leaving their countries and come to ours...why does he/we not want them over here? cuz they are violent, gang members, drug suppliers, etc. ...if roles were reversed, would we want to keep these individuals in our country and work hard to keep them out of Canada and/or Mexico?...anyways, just a thought, no need to get fired up about it...carry on...

For the most part, Congress is a bunch of idiots.

The entire thing last night was a national embarrassment

Things have gotten so unbelievably idiotic that trump calling mice "transgender", when they are actually "transgenic", just flies right under the radar.

He either can't read (I think this actually may be true), is an absolute blithering idiot, or knows it's false representation and says it to get bootlickers riled up. I think it's a combo of all 3.

Problem is, people hear "we saved $8 million dollars on trans mice, hurr durr" and eat it up like poop off of a boot.

I have a challenge for the bootlicking maga on here: when you hear something fantastical come out of cheeto jesus' mouth, fact check it. Just use google, and look up if it's actually true. Now, don't cheat and go to sites like "the blaze" or Breitbart. Use your effing common sense and fact check.

If you come back and let me know something trump said that you fact checked wasn't true, I'll venmo you $10.

I absolutely respect the sanctity of womens sports, as do ALL liberals that I know. There are over 500k NCAAW athletes. Less than 10 are trans. It is as close to a non-issue as you can possibly get.

If the right actually cared about womens sports like they so fervently claim, they would fight for things like equal pay. Equal access to equipment and facilities. Calling out harassment.

Thousands upon thousands of women and girls are reporting sexual abuse and harassment in their sports. Look up Larry Nassar, or gymnastics in general. Where's that outrage?

Don't sit here and say you care about womens sports when it comes to less than 10 trans athletes "ruining it", and then turn a blind eye and deaf ear to actual abuse and inequities.

Plus Title IX is under threat. A neutered Department of Education will have a very hard time enforcing it with draconian cuts.

Fair enough of liberals that you know. But every single Dem Senator doesn’t quite feel that way. (just two days ago)I.

Btw, I do feel there is a very legitimate reason to vote no on this bill, but I don’t think that is why they voted no.
