Trump 2024 Run Thread

Is she stupid that the Section 3 of the 14th Amendment reads,

"No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability." It's disgusting how supporting Trump can mess up your mind pretty bad.

The Trump campaign blasted 2020 campaign communications director Erin Perrine on Wednesday for her role at a super PAC supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this cycle.

"She chose to side with DeSanctimonious and nothing can ever wash that foul stench of shit off her," reads a post from the Trump campaign account on X, formerly known as Twitter. "MAGA disowns her and anyone else that associates/works with her."

Perrine was the communications director for Never Back Down, a pro-DeSantis super PAC. She left the PAC in December along with other top executives.

Perrine is just the latest former high-ranking comms staffer to be disavowed by Trump.

Former White House communications directors Alyssa Farah and Anthony Scaramucci have earned Trump's ire as have former White House press secretaries Kayleigh McEnany and Stephanie Grisham.

can you imagine the GOP response if an attorney of Joe Biden went live in front of the Public and then listed a way for Joe Biden to remain POTUS even if it is unconstitutional and encouraged that everyone should support it even if it is unconstitutional?

WHY do we let Trump and his people do these things? WHY...it makes no sense. This is LEGIT 1000% UNCONSTIUTIONAL and we just laugh it off and move on. This should be a National Headline with expert after expert after expert calling her, Trump and his campaign out for these kind of Remarks with 20 min segments running on exactly how this is against the US CONSTITUTION.

Could I get you some cheese to go with that whine former President Trump? Robin Hood took from the rich and gave to the poor. Victim Hood 45 takes and pockets it. IMO

This is a pretty conservative board. Here we are on the 38th page of a thread about the candidate that is not only leading, he is currently trouncing his competition in the primary. Yet, on this board he gets no support. Sure, a few will make comments when the anti-Trump posts are over the top. But, nobody is coming out and supporting the candidate with a nearly insurmountable lead.

Very strange. Either people are voting for him but claiming they aren't or we have the strangest mix of conservatives ever put together.

I’m extremely conservative and I will no more vote for Trump than I will for Biden. I am tired of the whataboutism in both parties, I am sick of the constant tit for tat and I believe both of the senile SOBs should be in jail because they have both received money while in office.

One of my main reasons for not voting for Trump is I can’t figure why he is running except to beat Biden. When he ran the first time he had a set of ideas that you could see, not now. One of my main reasons for not voting for Biden is he’s running to beat Trump with no policy declarations. Screw them both, lock them up,

I don't consider this a particularly conservative board. I consider myself a conservative, even a MAGA conservative, yet not a Trump supporter. I support many of his ideas, such as closing our borders (except for controlled immigration), peace through strength (though I support both Israel and Ukraine, which I don’t believe Trump does), and energy independence. I think Trump's "nearly insurmountable lead" (which applies only to primary opponents) will change drastically after IA/NH/GA primaries/caucuses. IF Republicans can whittle it down to a 2-person race (Haley or DeSantis), I think the gap will close dramatically by the convention. While I have great reservations about those two, I'll support either over Trump.

I think nearly all national polling is flawed/biased, particularly when it comes to Trump. Nearly every poll is claiming Trump leads Biden, though I don't believe I've yet seen one where Trump leads by more than the margin of error. So, statistically speaking, it's a toss up.

I also think ALL pollsters have a vested interest in inflating Trump's numbers (accomplished through leading questions, not direct "data manipulation"). Conservative-supporting pollsters want Trump to have great numbers in an effort to bolster his popularity; other pollsters may believe that Trump is actually the easiest target for Biden to defeat because Democratic and even Moderate support will galvanize against Trump.

What's funny to me is, what you see as "the strangest mix of conservatives ever put together," I see as the mainstream of the Republican Party (who amongst us doesn't see ourselves as mainstream?). Unfortunately, what I see as mainstream may not win out, thereby disproving my theory.

You beat me to it, barely, but with similar thoughts. Maybe we are mainstream!
