Wow. I doubt Edwards was asked to leave, but I bet Wark saw the writing on the wall when she only got 3 ABs in the regional. Maybe a sign that the staff is cracking down a little.

We all know changes are needed, so I support them in whatever way they come. Now, that said, there's an entire left side of the infield to replace, so we'll see how it goes, but the portal is not an area Kenny has struggled in.

Agree. I would have thought she was in good position to take over at SS. But she was almost exclusively used as a pinch runner so maybe she struggled at the plate in practice.

Vandewater was a catcher by trade…she wasn’t going to play SS here. Hopefully we can get one out of the portal or one of these highly talented freshman is ready to play day one

What kind of money do softball superstars receive? I know Canady got to 1 million and built tech to a power quickly. Is this LSU tramsfer $100k? $500k? Crazy money!

I have looked and looked and looked, and that info is so hard to find. On3 (sometimes far from accurate) said Jada Coleman made $60,000 for OU, Jordy Bahl about $75K for NU, and then St Claire, the good looking SS for Miss State made $120K....but that was more based off her social media following than her actual ability. All of that was before Canady's TTU deal.

In the last two days Ruby Meylan posted a sponsored picture on instagram (lip gloss, I think?) and Karli Godwin posted something for skin care.
My understanding is that other than a select few, softball NIL for many is more like the orginal intent of NIL.

But I wonder how much does someone like Rosie Davis make, a player who just gets better and better at the plate and will be a candidate for CPOY next season?

And will OSU softball benefit from an NIL boost like apparently basketball has?

One player in the portal to watch is Jayden Jones, older sister of incoming freshman Audrey Jones. Jayden is a middle infielder and hit .250 with a .375 ob% and four HRs at Virginia Tech. Started 19 games at VT. Three years of eligibility. Very highly rated coming out of the state of Michigan, where she was a two time state champ and a Miss Softball awardee in 2024.
