It’s a pathetic product on the floor and Lutz should be embarrassed based on the money that’s been invested in this roster. Some didn’t believe a month or so ago when I said it was a 7-8mil roster. RA this week on radio repeatedly said basketball had 7mil in this roster.
So not only has the financial investment been made, we hired a coach who was supposed to be able to guy that could do more with less. So much for that! Should have hired Ben McCollum who a lot were saying at the time and took Drake to the NCAA in his first year and has Iowa on track for the tournament in his first year there as well.

I am sad to say this made me laugh, although sad as to how accurate it is.
I was buying back in to OSU men's bball during that non con run and then we got blown out by OU so I thought "here we go". Then I lost complete interest again after we started looking clueless in the first couple of conference games. Now I don't even really know when we have games. I saw a clip of the buzzer beater come across my facebook feed so I came over here to see what the score was. We lost to Colorado by 14? Freakin awesome. JFC.

How do we keep hiring coaches who don’t run any semblance of a half court offense. “Get a shot up in the first 12 seconds of the shot clock” is not an offense.
We've had Ford, Boynton, and now Lutz offenses where in the half court it is just stand around and occassionally try to get the ball to the post player. ZERO ball movement. He’s probably lucky Fallah and Ousamane are good post scorers or it’d be even worse.
Defensively I cant tell if its Lutz defense or if its just this sad sack of lazy players is making it look worse than it is.

This is what bugs me. Neither Boynton or Ford were particularly good Xs and Os coaches, but you can't say their teams didn't improve. There's nothing worse than watching a team throw in the towel.
It's hard to say if that's all on Lutz though. The portal era has shown us that when players become mercenaries for hire, their motives change. Teams are now built for a single season, so how do you get your players to care about building something for the future? At this point, the best thing these guys can do is not get hurt.
Doesn’t matter. That is his job and he is failing. This team is defensively inept. Help defense seems to be a foreign concept to these guys. Effort is not sustained. Offensively they stand around while whoever has the ball dribbles and dribbles and dribbles until they “find” a shot. Ball handling and passing is poor. It is definitely a group of misfit toys. But he recruited em, so he needs to coach em up. He doesn’t seem capable of doing it. I honestly hate to say this, but it is already obvious Lutz is another miss by the athletic department.

mistakes or poor defensive effort are C Coleman, Roy, Clary, and Curry.

I don’t disagree. The absolute killer is the 4 position. I don’t care what the +/- stats say we get absolutely nothing on either end from this spot. Nonexistent offensive threat. So much so teams don’t even bother on the ball and if you watch off the ball it’s even worse.
Part of our offensive problem is scheme. The other part is that when we do run sets teams can completely ignore the 4 and slide so far in the lane that they can body up our shooters bc those guys don’t have to help.
Defensively if you can believe it is worse than offense. And protecting the defensive glass is worse.
You can tell he tries to hide it by playing Fallah at the 4 some but even that brings problems. The. I see yesterday he goes and starts Isaiah at the 3. Maybe there was a discipline issue but I’d rather start curry and slide Roy to the 4 bc having both Coleman’s on the floor is just not a good move.

Truthfully this season of basketball hasn’t even been that disappointing for me. I mean don’t get me wrong in actuality it has but I just now fully expect it. This season doesn’t even compare to the program opening up the investigation to the NCAA and being handed a post season ban. Now it just feels like we will never have success. I truly wish I didn’t feel like that.

Yeah, he's only getting one more year if the pattern continues. Two years of statistics show that Lutz's teams play fast, but ugly. Offensively we improved, but this is the second straight year we've been among the worst in the league in assists, turnovers, fouls, and blocks. I'm not sure our roster is particularly built for the pace he demands, and suspect that's part of our injury problems.
A serious point guard is our #1 need. Clary would be a decent backup point guard, but Curry was wildly inconsistent all year. I won't be disappointed at all if neither are back,.
Isaiah Coleman needs to hit the road too. He's even worse than Christian Coleman when it comes to effort and consistency. He was probably an expensive portal addition too given his numbers at Seton Hall.
Victorius Miller is another poor defender with an inconsistent offensive game, but of last year's portal additions, he's the only one I really care to bring back.
Crotty and the freshman bigs showed promise, but I don't know how Lutz looks at that group and thinks "Oh, these guys are a perfect for my 40 minutes of hell system".

Clary plays hero ball. Curry has moments but has too many lapses.
This team is missing a solid floor general PG. go pay for a stud in the portal and I mean pay him because these guard are not cutting it
