OSU @ Arizona State

It’s been noted before but something about this team is just off. They come in almost every game looking uninspired, they don’t seem to respect or respond to their coach, and they don’t seem like they like each other either.

Oh well, next year will likely be almost an all new roster again. Just based on demeanor I’d bet many of those eligible to come back don’t.

I feel like Lutz needs to be on the hot seat next year. What we've seen the last season and a half has been mostly bad. I want to believe he can get it done, but he keeps proving me wrong.

Parsah:

"I just don't know what to say (about the rebounds)"

Clary

"We didn't do the things that that coach has been preaching for the past week or so. We spend about half of practice working on rebounding."

Lutz

"You can't give them 24 points off of the boards, and 26 off of turnovers. We spotted them 50 points."

"We shot our selves in the foot over and over"

"I'm not one to make excuses, it's on me. But our lack of rebounding is not for the absence of working, and practicing, and preaching."

"We dig ourselves out of the hole, and then we try to hit home runs. I'll take all the blame, I'm the head coach. But we did not rebound on this trip. I'm disappointed and angry about not winning."

Out of curiosity, does anyone else think the Steve Lutz "system" of swarming to the ball and double teaming everyone, all the time, without exception is really f'ing dumb?

We're dead last in the Big 12 in team defense and it's blindingly obvious why.

I like Lutz, but bro, it's really easy to see how teams are attacking your gimmicky defense every game. Stop blaming the players. Big 12 players know how to wait for the double team and pass to the open man.

I did not see the game tonight but listened to it. If it's like other games, it's just old fashioned help defense. You have to be disciplined and smart to do it right. And it requires a lot of effort when the other team swings the ball well.

Coach says they work hard in practice and don't see results gametime. He's got to get it figured out. That's why he gets the big $. Did he mention team offense in the postgame? We're woefully deficient in that area as well.
