I hear you.......it's moving fast. A few years ago the BD dog that couldn't stand up when you bumped it led the national network news.....now there are drone dog robots fighting in war and someone with the profile of Musk saying they will be for sale to the public barely moves the needle. Yesterday's headset is todays simple tasks in factories is next years do anything you ask it.

I use AI every day for work and it is so overblown and overbought. Its the same hype machine driving robotics.

Today there are robots with the capability to disrupt the workforce once they show they won't kill you, I got to meet some from a group looking at data centers.....they can do complex physical moves, prepare/serve/bus meals, speak every language, do complex math on the fly, mimic your voice now. The robots in question are already working alongside humans at a factory that builds complex machines. It's coming.

This! Musk is a self serving aggrandized narcissistic sociopath. It’s why I made the original comment. Robotics and AI will disrupt a lot of facets of life. I for one look forward to when they become household norms to help become primary caretakers.

But Musk has spent the last two years telling us that money/wealth won’t be necessary while at the same time every move he has made financially himself is the antithesis of his propaganda. If wealth or money will have no consequence within the next decade why is he on a bender to accumulate as much wealth and not do anything to give it away today?

He overplayed his hand w electric vehicles and has lost the market. When it returns to the US and it will, Tesla automobiles will be an afterthought. So where does he build wealth in the meantime?

Overhyping his robots and grifting off the federal govt. That was his sole motivation for hitching himself to Trump and the red hatred cult are that up.

I'm staying out of the politics of all of it......if it isn't Musk it's going to be someone else. I will say this....and it again ZERO politics implied here....they are at or near the front of outer atmospheric electricity generation and data storage. If they do that they win.

I think all of his work has been a profitable way to begin functioning in space. I know he has big ideas about living on mars but Tesla has a large foot in the door of with rockets, solar panels, batteries, satellite coms, and now they are going to have functional robots. He has the recipe to avoid all the red tape (I don't mean the nefarious kind I mean like local/state/fed/angry neighbor) of Earth to store and transmit data from space which will be a game changer. Realistically they are within a few years of having these guys man solar powered data installations in space.

I appreciate the information and desire to keep politics out (back to that in a sec) but everything I read says scientifically humans cannot live on mars and a few articles have said that we may not be able to survive a return from a mars landing. So what then is the point other than sacrifice to gain knowledge.

IMO it’s important to view Musk through a political lens bc he made the decision to put himself in that orbit.

I’ll give him his due as he was shrewd enough to understand how to play Trump. As a result we got screwed and he knowing EVs were not his future kept his cash cow in good standing for federal dollars and avoided federal investigations.
