Down 2 runs in the ninth and giving away an out is one of the dumbest things you can do. Literally take a lot of the pressure off of the pitcher that you just put on him.

This team is less clutch than last years team. Sad that you give up 5 runs in a short span and can never really put anything together. Getting really tired of being good enough to go to postseason but not be any real threat for Omaha

1-5 vs ranked teams. The next 2 are pretty crucial to win but they most likely will find a way to lose them.

This is the fallacy of being a home run hitting team. When you see good arms (especially lefties against Josh’s teams) you can’t score like you need to.
At some point you have to be willing and able to play small ball to scratch across runs.
They can still come back and win the series which would be great. But I am not optimistic. Will be there tomorrow night cheering them on though.

The best part is we played for 1 run when down 2. Never seen a team bunt down 2 in the 9th.

Their strength is hitting home runs. So I don’t understand why with the game on the line you all of a sudden try to be something your not and ask a guy to bunt. Maybe if it was tied but down 2 is dumb. Especially when a home run wins it and that’s your strength.

Agreed. We will beat avg to above avg teams. But we won’t beat anyone that’s legitimately good. A lot of hype with this team and the results are the same. Play like shit vs good teams. Have half the pitching staff come into the season hurt. Etc etc.

Yep I completely get that. Did not understand that either. My point was, throughout the game, when you get two strikes on you it might be beneficial to try to hit for contact instead of continuing to swing for the fence.

I know Holliday has been more successful but I feel this team is a lot like the men's basketball team. Year in and year out its the same issues and problems that just don't ever seem to get fixed.

It’s only been a year and a half but we’ve yet to win a series Vs a legit team at home. Vandy, tcu, tech, and now on the verge of losing this series. 2-8 in these games. Doesn’t even include 1-2 against Arkansas last year.
