Obstruction is a tricky call to make....I get Oregon's frustration
Myself, I like how the rules committee simplify by cutting out all the grey area. As a former softball official of 20 yrs…you have no idea how many times I was told what an obstruction and what not at different officiating camps.

I was upset with the ump calling the runner out…thank goodness for review

Great jon by Kenny G to get this turned around and the girls for putting that seasons ending out of their system and playing like a top team in the country

Seattle regional:

Washington scores the first run in the 4th and leads 1-0

Washington blows this game open with a HR and now leads 5-0

I get why the oregon coach was upset, the rule itself sucks and she was out by a mile. But at the same time it’s the rule and was clear obstruction so there’s not really anything to be mad about. Just like game 1 the 1st base coach got ejected when they called the batter out of the box. The batter was out of the box. Both calls correct. Both times oregon got mad, but imo they have to coach their players better on how to avoid those situations, because both were avoidable and both calls were correct.

Personally I love the rule. The rules committee simplify this rule to be a level playing area for all. Before it’s a bit frustrating when in one part of the country its called obstucting and in another part it’s not. This way, it cut out the grey area and it’s beneficial for coaches to teach their players how to play the game correctly. About a few weeks ago, think it was a Washington game…if you think our runner was out by a mile…that was 3 miles. The officials done the same by calling her out but under review, they overturned it to obstruction.

If this rule gets change back to way it was…be prepare for the grey area to be back and it be hard for the coaches to teach their players to play correctly. And how can a coach their players correctly when officials will call it differently across the nation

Every game of Stanford I watched….they had hard time to score runs. Now they swinging the bats pretty darn good as they are 3 outs away to advance

Stanford def Duke 7-2 and punches their ticket to the WCWS.

Dominant pitching in both games. Not surprising to see them back with their recent two recruiting classes. Nijaree Cannady puts them over the top (she was almost a cowgirl if she didn’t get accepted).

I admire both schools because they can’t rely on the transfer portal due to their academic standards. Makes their success on the diamond even more impressive.

B5

Clemson has bases loaded, only one out....OU makes a pitching change
Clemson extends the lead to 6-4 after a bases loaded to make it 6-4
Infield single back to the pitcher makes it 7-4 clemson, two outs
groundout ends the inning....

Clemson leads 7-4 after 5

Clemson better not get to feeling too comfy. As we’ve seen leads aren’t safe against OU
