Mid last week South Korea's president declares martial law, people protest, parliament essentially forces end to the declaration then nearly impeached president. Articles provide context to what's been going on in the country.

South Korea votes to impeach president over martial law declaration.

So president on his way out decides he doesn't like the Legislature going against him, declares martial law to prevent them from acting. They push past, it force the end to martial law and then impeach his defense minister and eventually him.

Wish our legislative brach would act in best interest of the country vs party.

South Korea impeached acting president after he refused to appoint justices to replaced retired justices on their constitutional court. Previous impeachment needs to be confirmed with 6 of 9 votes in that court, currently they only have 6 justices so a lone dissent would undo the impeachment vote following the martial law decree a few weeks ago.
