Oklahoma needs to quit playing politics w education. Form a committee and give it funding from public and private sector
Get serious adults in the room from both parties. Get serious industry and community leaders. Make sure there are educators from all levels and solid administrators. Study other states that aren’t playing around w this culture war/religious bs. Don’t reinvent the wheel but take aspects from red and blue states that are producing results. Ask OK corporations and OK legislature to commit to funding.
If we can pass bond issues to build football and Performing Arts and pass sales taxes for arenas for millionaires/billionaires we can all chip in for better education results. Once we have sustained results better jobs w better pay will relocate here and drive up tax collections replacing the need for the legislature to do anything w taxes.
Cut out the culture war bs and actually turn out critical thinking students businesses and industry will come to Oklahoma. People will not relocate to this state or move in jobs until we sustain positive education outcomes.

Since Walters was a disaster in leading as state super, it will be interesting to see how he does at Teachers Freedom Alliance. Its strategy is to decertify current teacher unions and replace them with far-right ones.

There are 2.8 million Unionized teachers in the US. An additional 1.0 million teachers with no union affiliation
The union he is leading has 2,700 members

It will have to start with Gov. Stitt naming someone well qualified for state super. He or she should have experience with school admin and has openly been critical of Walters.
It's ultimately up to the voters if Oklahoma education will continue to be politicized in favor of the Christian Nationalist Agenda. For starters, Sen. Dusty Deevers should be voted out.
What you posted is the most nuts thing about Oklahoma education. This is the reddest state in the US and scumbag politicos have convinced our population that the conservatism stops at the school steps.
Both of my parents were teachers. My wife was a teacher. Our friends are teachers. They want to do their job. Educate and love/care for kids. Give them the resources. Provide a safe environment for teachers, kids and staff. Then leave them the eff alone.
Anyone attending or teaching at an Oklahoma Public Schools are obviously trans.

They want to end teachers unions so on paper yeah. In reality they will likely regret it.
Cant remember if it was said here or somewhere else, but what are the odds something was found on his work laptop and this was the states way of taking care of it quietly?
