Regional Round

I revise my prediction for the regional to a loss to Duke, followed by a loss to Binghamton and a quick trip home! Immediately followed by a Josh Holliday press conference talking about how they did some good things this year and just had a few bad breaks!

Anyone know if any Gary Ward team ever lost a game by 12 runs or more? I do remember a crazy postseason game with Arizona State when they had Odebe McDowell where they beat us something like 36-24 or thereabouts but at least we had offense in that game, just no pitching. I don’t remember a Ward team ever being dominated like this, especially to a team like Duke.

I'm sure they went with Shull to get another RH bat in the line-up against Duke's LHP. Shull has really struggled most of the year and it was another wrong button pushed. Conover has been much better all the way around.

winnable game….questionable in game management. Walton left pesca to dry instead of stopping the bleeding. Phillips gave a valiant effort on the mound.

This regional is going to be offensive. Duke tried to give you the game early and we didn’t want it

We hit 4 home runs after we were down 9-0. Three of them solo of course.

We might have 3-5 more wins this year if we had speedy outfielders who could run down balls.

I doubt they'd do it but if you hold Bodendorf tonight using the logic of "trying to win the entire regional and not just one game" .... should almost do it again tomorrow. Who cares If you only beat a bad #4 seed with your ace and get blown out again on Sunday? Watkins should be able to win tomorrow, have Bodendorf and Youngerman to win 2 on Sunday. Probably crazy but the thought of using Bodendorf to win one game in regionals against Binghamton doesn't seem like much to get real excited about.
