You mean the same head coach who hired a GM for the program back in the spring, before it was trendy?https://www.yahoo.com/sports/bill-belichicks-salary-north-carolina-220507681.html
You’ve got to imagine that HC contracts are going to look a lot like Belicheck’s deal:
$1.5 million allowance for GM salary. Bama paid $825k this year for this position fwiw.
$13 million for NIL-working under the assumption that the judge rules in April that players can be classified as employees.
$10 million budget for assistants.
$1.5 million for S&C.
Hard to believe how rapidly this sport’s changing. One can only hope that our leadership is on top of this, because we know the head coach isn’t.
Lol, the trend was a year before that. You mean the same head coach who hired a GM for the program back in the spring, before it was trendy?
Lol, the trend was a year before that.
Where did I say we’re not doing that?Moving the goal posts a little?
You: We aren't doing that.
Response: We did that this year.
You: We didn't do that last year though.
Like true cowboys, we are giving them enough rope to hang themselves.Where did I say we’re not doing that?
There are stories going back to 2021 about schools hiring a GM. Yay, we did it two years later-what vision!
Oh, and the HC was publicly reluctant to do what others were already doing to compete, and openly says he was late to adapt.
Yeah, you guys are right-how could anyone have any doubts about the leadership moving forward?
Crickets on Mr. Trendsetter I see.Like true cowboys, we are giving them enough rope to hang themselves.
And that is an assumption. How do you know there won’t be a big improvement?Crickets on Mr. Trendsetter I see.
The rope and the hanging happened with 3-9 & the a$$hole Baghdad Bob routine directed at his own supporters.
All that’s happened here is someone put a stool under his feet that’ll be kicked aside unless there’s big improvement, which there won’t be and we’ll look back and say we should’ve never provided that stool.
And that is an assumption. How do you know there won’t be a big improvement?
This is a tired, false narrative. Few if any OSU fans who actively post on an OSU sports message board want OSU football to fail. We all generally want success. It's why we're here.I think he wants us to fail.

That said, there is a large (and growing) % of the fanbase that firmly believes Gundy isn't the best person to bring that success, and are seeking the quickest resolution. Due to the circumstances and Gundy's personality, it appears to that group that the best chance of longterm success for OSU is for him to fail miserably ASAP so we can get the whole process over with, and move to another era.
There is an opposing % that either believes Gundy is above OSU, and he is to be supported and protected at all costs, and defend him accordingly (a fair % of this board, seemingly) OR they actually believe Gundy is the best person to elevate the program beyond what he, himself, has created (riiiiight). I see some merit to the latter position, but it would require changes that are incongruent with Gundy's historical approach and personality, which seems highly unlikely.
Gundy *could* actually be the best person for the job, but he has made it clear that he not only avoids necessary changes - he loses his mind and throws tantrums at the mere suggestion that he consider making changes. That alone points to some major character flaws that I personally don't want OSU to continue supporting or enabling.
Gundy is human and his son had gone through a 12 hour surgery that permanently destroyed his hearing in one ear to remove a brain tumor the day before his most recent rant. For that reason alone I can understand why Mike was on edge that weekend. He had already agreed with Shrum and Weiberg to fire the coordinators, take a cut in pay and buyout weeks before the BoR had their special meeting. If you paid attention to Mike’s post game press conferences Mike said he was told to talk only about football. He also said that he made a mistake about NIL and that he would embrace it and use it going forward. He was told by Shrum and/or Weiberg to stick to football. Shrum and Weiberg were at the BOR meeting. They had to advocate for Gundy because some of the Regents don’t like Gundy and they saw this as a chance to get rid of him. I suspect that Shrum and Weiberg were criticized by the BoR but they prevailed. The special meeting wasn’t necessary and it just made a bad situation worse. Just calling the special meeting affected the decisions of several recruits and prospective coaches. I think it is obvious that Mike is being pushed out over the next couple of years to resign or be bought out so expect mediocre results unless Mike and his assistants pull off a miracle and OSU provides adequate NIL funding. College ball is going through a transition and it is finished changing. Go Pokes! This is a tired, false narrative. Bless your heart.Birry if I wanted your opinion I would have asked you.
Gundy has proven by his actions and words over the last few years prove he no longer cares and is just here to collect a paycheck. That board meeting didn’t affect what coordinators we hired, nobody of any stature what coming here to work with GundyGundy is human and his son had gone through a 12 hour surgery that permanently destroyed his hearing in one ear to remove a brain tumor the day before his most recent rant. But it did affect what coordinators we hired. Our first choice was on a plane headed to Stillwater and never got here because of the BoR meeting. Um, if he wanted to just “collect a paycheck” and hold onto his “huge ego/pride” don’t you think he would’ve said screw all of you and pay me my $25 million buyout? Well, he didn’t. He wants to make it right and loves Oklahoma State. Carson Cunningham’s reporting on the Pistol’s firing podcast contradicts a lot of this narrative. He’s indicated in the week following 52-0 and the end of the season that Gundy was showing resistance to meeting, renegotiating, and other changes with Weiberg and Shrum, and that led to the BoR meeting. It logically makes more sense with how things played out. I don’t think that meeting happens if Gundy comes away from the season consolatory and open to changes.Gundy is human and his son had gone through a 12 hour surgery that permanently destroyed his hearing in one ear to remove a brain tumor the day before his most recent rant. There’s two sides to every story, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. We’ll never know for sure what went on but ultimately this was a public renegotiation that lasted all of 24hrs. I find the idea that Gundy had some home run OC hire on their way, and recruits/transfer portal guys lined up at the door, as some next level, extra potent Kool aid stuff.
Yes, quickly and painlessly out behind the barn without rubbing his nose in his own poop before I did it.You mean you would actually shoot old yeller
