Ex DC Todd Grantham, HC Doug Meacham

So we went from not being able to afford to keep Knowles to paying Grantham $4.2 for 3 years?

I had no idea Grantham’s contract was that valuable. I’m not sure who was in charge of making that decision. But whoever it was, they shouldn’t be in the process moving forward.

I think we didn't realize Knowles' market value, but yeah I get your point. That's a big chunk of cash for a dude that lasted all of 4 games.

Gundy hired the assistant coaches.

Next man up: Clint Bowen. Tackle drills this week, Mr. Bowen. And cover all the receivers. I don't think that's asking too much.

I don’t remember exactly what we offered Knowles butI think it was in the $1.3 - $1.5/yr range (same ballpark as Grantham) and tosu offered him $2 mil

We were never going to be able to compete with Ohio State for his services. Plus, was a guy who liked new challenges. He did the thing here, and then wanted to compete at a higher level (with higher income). Gundy was never going to do what it took to keep him here for a variety of reasons, so we lost him.

I think it was more on Holder than Gundy.
