He wrestled well in that match. Just ran out of time at the end. At the end of the second period and at the end of the third period he just about had a cradle tied up on the guy, but couldn’t finish it.

Surber was nearly pinned just now. Went from being ahead 7 to 5 to losing 9 to 7 to the 25th ranked wrestler from Citadel. He’s got the third period to try to make that up..

Surber was nearly pinned just now. Went from being ahead 7 to 5 to losing 9 to 7 to the 25th ranked wrestler from Citadel. He’s got the third period to try to make that up..

I finally found the Surber match on espn+. He was ahead and I look down at my phone for a few seconds. There's no play-by-play, so when I look up Surber is on his back and about to get pinned. After he very fortunately scrambles out he gets to the 3rd period only down 2. I'm thinking he gives up the escape and he can still tie it with a takedown. He gives up the escape but proceeds to again nearly get pinned. Not only a huge upset, he wasn't even close to winning.

Spratley, Hamiti, Plott and Pindrickson are the reason we are in second place. Think where we’d be if Surber just wins the match he’s heavily favored in. I don’t fault Teague at all, coming in as the #33 wrestler he wrestled well and gave the #1 guy all he could handle! Gonna have to rely on our bonus point guys to keep us in it. It would help if the guys in the consolations get pissed about being there and go on a run! One thing is obvious, there are no “bad” wrestlers at this event and anyone can get beat if they’re not on their game!
