D with the win to put Pokes up 10-9!
David has to make a change at 149
Need to figure out 149. Has this guy won a match so far on the season? Lost this match 5-3 to an unranked wrestler
Wrong thread but yes he's goodRoy is so good. 4 quick points
Allegedly. They got smoked by Ohio State too33-3 after Merril win in SV
Nebraska is #2 right?
He is still a POS!Ferrari beats Doucet on RT
33-6 F
Hard to say...on the guys we have for 133 or 149...they have been in a much different room over the last year. Look at Doucet!? That guy is completely different from 2yrs ago!The 3 true freshman in lineup look great. After National Duals (and Stanford) they should be viewed as title contenders who at a minimum will place pretty high. Despite tough losses, Spratley has to be viewed same way.
At 174, 184, 197, and 285, have to view those guys as having a chance to make AA, but no sure thing. And not title contenders.
133 and 149 are weak spots. I don't know what happened to Casey after All Star match. And Fig does not look good at 133.
At 133 we have Hughes, if he can make weight. I think he is very good. At Mich St open he pounded guy from Wisc who placed 4th. Does anyone have any info on him. If he can't make 133, maybe he can make jump to 149. Other options at 133 are Ramirez who wrestled at National Duals (and looked OK), McComas and guy from Japan. I think Hughes can AA, I doubt the others can.
At 149 we have Jameson who was round of 12 guy last year at 141. And he was too big for 141, 149 may be a better weight for him. We have Travis who did pretty good last year at 149 at NCAAs and Carter Young. So we have some options, but other than Jameson, I doubt the others can AA.
Right now everybody but Penn State is playing for second.. we are getting closer.I do think we have best coaching around. But talent is the overriding factor. The success of the 3 true freshman shows that. They were all top 10 (with 2 of the 3 being top 5) recruits. Getting the best wrestlers in your room does wonders, which is why Penn St. has been dominate, as their room is full of top 10 recruits.
Next year we have 4 more top 10 recruits. So getting closer.
This year, we have 2 holes to fill. I think Hughes is a stud, so would love to see him in lineup. I also think Jameson is a likely AA at 149. We don't have much of a chance to beat Penn St at NCAAs (though one can dream). But we have a chance to finish second.
