Trump braces for humiliating revelations as major split on Iran leaks

Top members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet were at each other’s throats over war with Iran right up until the moment the president hit the big red button.

Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt all expressed wildly diverging takes on Trump’s proposed conflict in the Middle East in the days and weeks leading up to the first U.S. strikes, according to an explosive report from The New York Times.

Trump threatens 50 percent tariffs on Iran arms supplies

President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened 50 percent tariffs on any country that supplies military weapons to Iran, though it’s not clear he has the legal authority to do so.

“A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

While the president previously wielded tariffs to pressure other countries to bend to his will, the Supreme Court in February took away the main legal justification — a 1977 emergency law — he had used to slap those levies on countries at will.

The tariff tools he has left at his disposal are more limited and cumbersome, requiring more specific justifications and more thorough investigations before tariffs can be imposed.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment about what legal authority the president plans to use to enforce his threat.

Trump could, for instance, try to use Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, which allows the president to impose tariffs of up to 50 percent. However, that statue is supposed to be used to combat foreign discriminatory trade practices or restrictions against U.S. goods — a legal stretch in the case of weapons sales.

Hegseth was triumphalist but details on two-week ceasefire were scarce

Hegseth was triumphalist in his news conference but in the room few details were forthcoming about the nature of the truce and planned negotiations with Iran.

His statements were marked by contradiction and a lack of clarity.

The administration says the aim of the war was to deny Iran a nuclear weapon in the future. Hegseth said at one point Iran would hand over its stockpile of nuclear fuel“right now”. He didn’t say who would do this, how it would happen, or how it would be verified.

He was later asked about this and said: “They will either give it to us, which the president laid out, or if we have to do something else ourselves."

On the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran has said its re-opening it during the truce will be under Iranian military coordination. Hegseth was asked about control of the strait, and said the oil tankers “will be sailing” but the US retained options.

And he was asked about Trump’s post on Tuesday threatening a “whole civilization” would die, and his threat to destroy all of Iran’s power plants and bridges.

Hegseth quoted the president saying the US could “take it all” including Iran’s “ability to export energy”, adding: “The United States military has the ability to strike those things with impunity”.

This is not true, Congress has a series of laws limiting US conduct in war and has ratified treaties including the Geneva Conventions, which mean its military and leadership cannot act “with impunity”.

🤡 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Hegseth: "Together with our Israeli partners, America's military achieved every single objective. on plan, on schedule, exactly as laid out from day one."

Little tone deaf huh

JD Vance in Hungary: "You should never have a foreign head of state threatening the head of government of an allied nation. It's preposterous, it's unacceptable."

They killed 20-30k of thier own people a month ago. People wanting freedom from an evil government.

Now we are partnering the same evil people.

We are the modern day Nazis, Stalin Soviets or Mao's Chinese.

We are the villains of the world, the big bad.

Yet the people live with it and don't do what should be done.

CNN on Iran government document Trump labeled 'fake': 'It's authentic'

CNN is defending its reporting on a statement given by Iranian officials regarding a ceasefire agreement the U.S. and Iran reached just hours before President Trump was set to launch an attack on the Iran’s infrastructure.

As part of the network’s coverage of the ceasefire deal on Tuesday, CNN quoted Iranian officials who claimed a “great victory” in the negotiations and framed the agreement as one Trump agreed to in order to open the Straight of Hormuz for oil passage.

CNN’s coverage of the agreement and the statement from Iranian officials was first highlighted by Mediaite.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, ripped into the network over its publishing of the statement, which was also cited by a number of other news outlets.

“The alleged Statement put out by CNN World News is a FRAUD, as CNN well knows. The false Statement was linked to a Fake News site (from Nigeria) and, of course, immediately picked up by CNN, and blared out as a “legitimate” headline,” the president wrote.

“The Official Statement by Iran was just released, and posted on TRUTH, below. Authorities are looking to determine whether or not a crime was committed on the issuance of the Fake CNN World Statement, or was it a sick rogue player? CNN is being ordered to immediately withdraw this Statement with full apologies for their, as usual, terrible “reporting.” Results of the investigation will be announced in the near future,” Trump wrote.

CNN is defending its reporting.

“The statement in question was obtained by CNN from Iranian officials and reported on multiple Iranian state media outlets,” a spokesperson for the outlet said. “We received the statement from specific official Iranian spokespeople who are known to us.”

Trump and his allies have sparred with CNN for years, and have grown increasingly frustrated with the network’s coverage of the Iran war.

FCC chair Brendan Carr in a social media post of his own called CNN’s reporting on the ceasefire agreement “outrageous conduct.”

“Fake news is bad enough for the country, but pushing out a hoax headline in such a sensitive national security moment as this requires accountability,” Carr said. “Iran put out an official statement that simply cannot be squared with the one CNN’s false headline attributes to them. Time for change at CNN.”

The least ceasefire-like ceasefire: Fox News host Harris Faulkner rips Trump’s agreement with Iran

Fox News host Harris Faulkner criticized President Donald Trump’s ceasefire with Iran on Wednesday, describing it as “the least ceasefire-like ceasefire” she had seen after Iran continued to strike neighbors in the region.

“Boy, I gotta tell you, this is the least ceasefire-like ceasefire I think that anybody might have anticipated,” said Faulkner on The Faulkner Focus after Iran continued to strike Israel and the Gulf Arab states amid its ceasefire with the United States. “Iran certainly doesn’t see it that way, obviously.”

Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst responded, “The Iranians don’t appear very serious about this ceasefire agreement. The president has offered them a good-faith opportunity, a window of two weeks to reach a broader agreement.”

A few minutes later, during an interview with retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral John “Fozzie” Miller, Harris protested, “Iran is continuing to threaten all of its neighbors, and the list got longer. I knew about Kuwait and Israel overnight after the ceasefire, but the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar– Admiral, those countries can’t just sit there and be patient for two weeks. They’ve got to fight, they’ve got to defend themselves. I mean, you know, they’ve got incoming now so they’ve got to fight that off defensively. That doesn’t seem like a ceasefire.”

Miller replied, “I don’t think it looks very much like a ceasefire anywhere you look, other than we’ve stopped bombing in Iran. The Iranians haven’t stopped, and of course the GCC countries that have taken the brunt of this over the last month are continuing to receive incoming fire.”

He concluded, “So I think we’ll get to a point very soon where the GCC can no longer wait to see what’s going to happen and they’re going to start to take matters into their own hands and defend themselves through offensive action on their part.”

Retired U.S. Army General Jack Keane also criticized Trump’s ceasefire on Wednesday, protesting that the Iranians were “still in control.”

So after Trump "ORDERED" CNN to retract their story, and they told him to Get Bent and revealed the Documents they were reporting on came straight from the Iranian Govt. Now Trump trying to blame someone else..how he is blaming "Fraudsters and charlatans" and says a Federal Investigation will be held

Trump lashes out to shift blame after ceasefire backlash

Donald Trump has lashed out at “fraudsters and charlatans” who he claims are circulating fake lists of Iran’s ceasefire plan as he tries to put a positive spin on the war.

In an angry Truth Social post on Wednesday, Trump claimed that “numerous agreements, lists and letters” were being sent out by people who had nothing to do with negotiations between the two countries. (BULL SHI& he shared on social media that the US had agreed to the 10 points proposed by Iran!!)

“In many cases, they are total Fraudsters, Charlatans, and WORSE. They will be rapidly exposed after our Federal Investigation is completed,” he wrote, without providing any specifics.

“There is only one group of meaningful “POINTS” that are acceptable to the United States, and we will be discussing them behind closed doors during these Negotiations.” (Yeah, and you called CNN Fake News and ordered them arrested when the Iranian Govt gave it to them and they shared it with the World. )

The tirade came hours after Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran—an abrupt climbdown from his earlier threat to unleash devastating military strikes if Tehran failed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

It also came despite the president previously declaring on social media that “there will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” (Insert SHOCKED face here)

The issue is contentious because Iran’s publicly reported 10-point plan is the opposite of what Trump has claimed and contains a range of measures the U.S. previously rejected before the war. (Yet the 10 Point Plan that Iran gave to the US Media is word for word copy and paste on Trump's Social Media Post, Pakistan's Social Media Post and Iran's Documents)

For instance, the regime insists on its right to continue uranium enrichment, whereas Trump claims Iran wants to give up its uranium and its nuclear weapon program.

Iran also wants the lifting of primary and secondary sanctions on Iran; the U.S. military withdrawal from the Middle East; the release of frozen Iranian assets; and continued control of the Strait of Hormuz, where 20 percent of the world’s oil usually flows.

Not even Trump’s own base is convinced that the U.S. has achieved all its objectives.

“These 10 points are an absolute disaster,” Trump ally and Fox News host Mark Levin wrote on X.

“The Iranian regime has never been more emboldened,” said Trump ally Laura Loomer.

She also took aim at news that Iran wants to impose a toll on the Strait—something Trump has bizarrely suggested could be a joint venture with America.

“Sadly, Iran collecting a toll in the Strait of Hormuz will provide Iran with long term funding for the Iranian regime and their terror proxies in the Middle East,” Loomer said.

“They will continue killing Americans, non Muslims and slaughtering the Iranian people for another 47 years.”

There are also already signs that the fragile ceasefire may not hold.

On Wednesday morning, for example, not long after Trump declared peace in the world, the United Arab Emirates also confirmed on Tuesday morning that they had intercepted 17 ballistic missiles and 25 drones launched from Iran, prompting claims that America was being “played.”

When do these people stop covering for this Admin. They are the most feckless cluster effs to have been chosen to lead this country. What is happening in the Middle East right now puts the US back decades if not a generation of foreign policy.

China can take Taiwan at any point. They can do whatever they want in SE Asia and we won’t do a thing about it and now they 100% know. They will economically and politically control a greater share of Europe and squeeze us economically whenever and wherever they want.

But hey we are deporting brown people and eggs are $2/dozen. Nice!!!
