Trump calls Iran "evil" and doubles down on threats against the country's civilian infrastructure that he posted on social media earlier.

"The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night," he says.

War Crimes?!?!

Conspiracy theory nut, Mike Adams claims the rescue story in Iran was faked to cover up for a failed effort to grab uranium. Bear in mind this comes from a guy who in 2022 predicted China would invade the USA from undercover merchant ships and believes the moon landings were faked. Scott Ritter believes rescue story is real. Since he has military experience, I believe him.

I'm only listened to a little under half of this but holy hell if he is even a little bit correct we are in for some serious issues.

Also @GratefulPoke I'd like you to listen to 21:35 to 30 minutes as I think some of it might be of interest from an inequality standpoint.

I watched the first 50 minutes and the more I see the more concerned I become.

If this is even half true then we have an enemy we've grossly underestimated, a leader who only cares about how this impacts his personal fortune, and an ally willing to let the world burn on a whim. Two of those things I could have told you without watching a second of this video.

It seems like there is a reason previous administrations have avoided direct conflict with Iran.

I haven't listened to this podcast before, but the guest is definitely a doomer so far (35 minutes in). I don't think nuclear weapons will be used on Iran. I don't know enough about the fertilizer and helium pieces but I do know that Iran is not going to give in easily. They want to make this as painful as possible so they are left alone in the future. I think the most likely outcome is that this is an ongoing "low intensity" war as long as congress lets him do it.

But for the segment you linked, yes, inequality causes war, because war is one of the easiest ways for the elite to release the social pressure valve without them having to give up much of anything in the short term, and they usually make a great deal of wealth as long as their country is not on the losing end.

War externalizes internal problems, takes attention away from the inequality, and kills off at least some of the poor all with the promise of the spoils of war for the general populace. The latter rarely benefit from spoils and when they do, it is very indirect.

In fairness, he also said nuclear weapons were unlikely. Less than 1% if no Trump, less than 5% because of Trump.

The famine stuff concerns me. Seems plausible.

BERMAN: The president is threatening a whole civilization will die tonight. You say he doesn't want to do it. Does being reluctant to end a civilization make it ok?

LAWLER: I don't think we're talking about ending a civilization--

BERMAN: So you don't believe the president's threat?

LAWLER: It is their energy infrastructure and civilian infrastructure

BERMAN: He says 'never to be brought back again'

It does seem plausible and this administration has no foresight. They are the exact type of people that will get stuck in a morass.

Tucker Carlson: "It is vile on every level. It begins with a promise to use the US military, our military, to destroy civilian infrastructure in another country, which is to say, to commit a war crime, a moral crime against the people of the country. Those people who are in direct contact with the president need to say 'No. I'll resign. I'll do whatever I can do legally to stop this, because this is insane. And if given the order, I'm not carrying it out.'"

So the Iranian "uprising" was at least partcially astroturfed.

Im not sure how you spin genocide but hey at least gas is... I mean groceries are...

Well poop
Everyone keeps mentioning gas, but the real pain I have seen is diesel. The price of diesel in Stillwater was $4.54 yesterday. It has gone up exponentially faster than gas.
Will make baling hay in a few months expensive as hell.
