I'm only listened to a little under half of this but holy hell if he is even a little bit correct we are in for some serious issues.
Also @GratefulPoke I'd like you to listen to 21:35 to 30 minutes as I think some of it might be of interest from an inequality standpoint.
I haven't listened to this podcast before, but the guest is definitely a doomer so far (35 minutes in). I don't think nuclear weapons will be used on Iran. I don't know enough about the fertilizer and helium pieces but I do know that Iran is not going to give in easily. They want to make this as painful as possible so they are left alone in the future. I think the most likely outcome is that this is an ongoing "low intensity" war as long as congress lets him do it.I'm only listened to a little under half of this but holy hell if he is even a little bit correct we are in for some serious issues.

In fairness, he also said nuclear weapons were unlikely. Less than 1% if no Trump, less than 5% because of Trump.I haven't listened to this podcast before, but the guest is definitely a doomer so far (35 minutes in). But for the segment you linked, yes, inequality causes war, because war is one of the easiest ways for the elite to release the social pressure valve without them having to give up much of anything in the short term, and they usually make a great deal of wealth as long as their country is not on the losing end.
War externalizes internal problems, takes attention away from the inequality, and kills off at least some of the poor all with the promise of the spoils of war for the general populace. The latter rarely benefit from spoils and when they do, it is very indirect.
It does seem plausible and this administration has no foresight. They are the exact type of people that will get stuck in a morass. In fairness, he also said nuclear weapons were unlikely. Less than 1% if no Trump, less than 5% because of Trump.
The famine stuff concerns me. Seems plausible.

How Trump Took the U.S. to War With Iran
In a series of Situation Room meetings, President Trump weighed his instincts against the deep concerns of his vice president and a pessimistic intelligence assessment. Here’s the inside story of how he made the fateful decision.www.nytimes.com
So the Iranian "uprising" was at least partcially astroturfed.
Are these people not tired of having to "he didn't really mean that" themselves out of every horrible thing he says? It's been at least a decade, SURELY it's getting tiresome... Right??
As it turns out, its not just the goons that are good at gymnastics. Are these people not tired of having to "he didn't really mean that" themselves out of every horrible thing he says? It's been at least a decade, SURELY it's getting tiresome... Right??
Everyone keeps mentioning gas, but the real pain I have seen is diesel. The price of diesel in Stillwater was $4.54 yesterday. It has gone up exponentially faster than gas.Im not sure how you spin genocide but hey at least gas is... I mean groceries are...
Well poop
